dear cognac, i clean, i sit, clean, sit, sometimes i sit longer. turn the music louder clean some more. sometimes i do just the most important and wait a few hours or the next day to finish the rest. make a phone call, clean some more. rest, clean again and again.then it's time to start over again. as it is said 'THE NEVER ENDING STORY'. not an easy thing to do. the answer to this is: when you win the lottery, get a maid, a butler, gardener and you must keep moving or you will never live long enough to spend all the money. pass the pizza please.

Many thanks for suggestions. Unfortunately, my back needs surgery and while the surgeon will do it, the anesthesiologist refuses because my lungs are in such bad shape. To quote him, "I can put her under, but I'm not sure I can bring her back". The constant pain hampers my movements. But I'm trying meditation. Again, thanks.
@cognac, we have some very active, insightful discussions in the "Lung Health" group on Connect, which you may wish to go through: https://connect.mayoclinic.org/group/lung-conditions/
May I ask if you would share a few more details about your lung health, and why you need back surgery?
@patriciapatricia, may I ask what brings you to Connect? We look forward to getting to know all of you.
Pulmonogolist scheduled me for a return in 6 months,am I supposed to sit around and continue to have breathing issues? This ai'nt living!! Time for a second opinion!!!
I understand how frustrating this must be! I'd like to invite @tresjur@jmgm@charlottemaxine Mentor @predictable to join this discussion as the've talked about cardioversion in previous posts; they may have some more information for you.
As @kanaazpereira mentioned, I have had 2 cardiopulmonary exercise tests and it is a good test, especially where breathing problems are concerned. It is different than the traditional stress exercise test in that you wear a facial mask apparatus over your mouth and your oxygen levels are recorded as well as the EKG (heart information). You will probably need to visit a larger medical center in order to have this test. Here is some information from Mayo regarding this test, http://www.mayoclinicproceedings.org/article/S0025-6196(11)60946-4/pdf
I would certainly recommend a second opinion. How long have you had this problem?
I, too, endure shortness of breath. How do you get things done around the house/apartment?

Dear Peach414144, you sound like me! That's what I do. So good to know I'm not alone in this. Thanks..
Hello @boredsilly, @cognac, @patriciapatricia,
I'd like to welcome you, and thank you for joining Mayo Clinic Connect.
@boredsilly, you are not alone in the symptoms you've described. I'd like to introduce you to @bergordon, who has had 2 cardioversions, and to @cherriann, whose husband also has shortness of breath; you can view their posts in these discussions:

In this discussion, https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/valve-repair/ Mentor @hopeful33250 has written about the CardioPulmonary Exercise test; have you had this type of stress test to measure your oxygen levels?
