Approved July 2022 Novavax: New COVID Vaccine May be Available Soon
I'm excited to see a new COVID vaccine named Novavax making great progress in third phase trials. It uses a more traditional approach similar to the yearly flu vaccine. This makes me more comfortable to get vaccinated. Looking forward to hearing that it will receive the go ahead to distribute soon. The current timetable is to finish trials this month and apply for FDA approval sometime in September. You can read more about the Novovax vaccine in these articles:

Hi everyone well today I got my second shot and haven't had any reactions, in talking with the pharmacist at Costco where I got it She also said She hasn't heard of any adverse reactions. I'll keep everyone updated as I see if this second dose has any other symptoms.
I had the Pfizer vaccine and 1 booster but still got covid in nov.2021.
I did have difficult side effects from this vaccine and seems to fall into a category of the “less then 5%” who get adverse reactions to medications, so I am encouraged by the Novavax vaccine.
Is it anticipated that it will be widely available? Will there be any difficulty requesting this vaccine?
Has anyone who has received Evusheld had serious side effects?
Well finally got my first shot yesterday, if your in the Arizona area the Costco's have the Nuvaxovid vaccine in stocks.
So far it's been 24 hours since my shot and no symptoms of it at all. Actually I even played Golf this morning, only 9 n holes don't want to push it but it seems at least the first dose is not giving me any symptoms. I did take Tylenol after the shot just in case but it seems maybe I didn't need to.
Hello All Update to Availability and approval under a EUA as of today the CDC also approved Nuvaxovid as it's being called and should be shipped to the Government distribution Places shortly. Here is the anouncement for Novavax.

While the Novavax vaccine is a great option for those unvaccinated who are (deservedly) hesitant to get the mRNA vaccines, a note of caution for those of us who are vaccine injured. Many of us had an autoimmune reaction provoked by the spike protein encoded by the Covid vaccines. The Novavax vaccine contains fragments of the spike protein, so it could potentially aggravate our autoimmune response. I don't think anyone knows for sure.
Does anyone know if Novavax will eventually be available to those who haven’t been able to get mRNA boosters because of serious side effects, such as neuropathy? I read that it is available as first round vaccines, not boosters. I’m looking for a safe booster as soon as I can possibly get one. I got my first booster of Moderna before getting the neuropathy and am desperate to find a safe alternative.
This is certainly welcome news! I hope this means you can be protected soon.
Sue
