Fibromyalgia Medications
Can anyone tell me some medications that have helped them control the symptoms of Fibromyalgia? I heard that Lyrica works the best w/ less side effects. Does any of the meds come in a liquid or injectable form?
Need suggesstions Please!

Hi trouse my haemotologist adviced me to try gabapentin for pain, but however read up and decided against it. But I did have along talk with my GP in regards to this before I made this decision. Also my staffy dog uses gabapentin to assist him with his itchy skin complaint. I again would speak to my specialist in regards to this as he will be able to answer any questions that concern you. Take care
Why did you decide not to take it, or change your med?
Hi trouse I have to take warfarin for the rest of my life due to ongoing clotting problems and it tends to interact with almost everything so decided not to go down that pathway. I try to control my pain with panadolosteo or codeine when it gets really severe. Take care
I want to thank everyone for their suggestions on the meds. My rheumatologist did call back and started me on Neurotin, I guess that is how you spell it. It is in capsule form that I can break. I take it in the evening 1 x per day in evening, I can increase up to 3 x a day if needed. I am doing Ok w/ it. My body is trying to get used to it. Feeling fatigue, dizzy, and causes weight gain, which I have noticed. I am noticing that I am very moody as well.
How long does it take for a new med to get into your system and get used to it!!
Thank again for your concerns and comments!
I will keep you updated!

Hi trouse so pleased that you have started on your new medication and it seems to be starting to work for you. I’m not sure how long it takes for your system to get used to the new medication ask you specialist. All new medications will take a little while to get used to I would think to readjust You take care and keep in touch Piglit
It has been almost a week on the new med Neurotin, I have noticed that I get very moody, I have been crying off and on, very nervous like, shaky, headaches, etc. I am only taking 100 mg per day in evening. Has anyone had this reaction before? I also have noticed some coughing, sinus issues and cramping! Does anyone have any sugesstions for me?
Hi sorry that your not feeling the best, not sure about the side effects or reactions so defineltly check with your dr and see what he suggests Take care Let me know how you get along you’ll be in my thoughts
I spoke w/ the rheumatologist yesterday. he stopped my med, and wants to wait till I see him in may. He said my side effects do not match the side effects of the med. i looked up the med, and I do not know what else it could be. i am seeing my primary doctor on Mon, I am to ask him!! The rheumatologist doctor said that this med i stopped could be in my system up to 7 days. Can this be true? I have noticed a small difference since I stopped, of course my body aches and pains are coming back, but having a little diarrhea now!
