Sorry to see about your continued pain. What about treatment? I’ve never been diagnosed with it, but have had unexplained muscle, joint, tissue pain for years. No exhaustion, so probably not Fibromyalgia. Lately I had great relief though and I’m not sure why. I’m attributing it to a new med I’m taking, but not certain of any correlation. Hope you can get some relief.

There could be something else going on but fibromyalgia pain is pretty much constant in my case aswell. It even hurts when I roll my eyes on bad days. I think they say you can learn to live with pain but I am struggling even though I am determined to get on. I have just had a UTI which knocked me out and bought on a flare. The GP thought I had appendicitis and told me to go to the hospital but I was correct in thinking it was the fibromyalgia making the UTI worse. I think pain can be less on good days... Here in the UK I have finally been heard. I have neurology sorting out my slipped disc and finally heard from the pain clinic thanks to my gastro consultant chasing it up. I was looking up small fiber neuropathy as it fits my slow esophagol motility and GORD so I will mention it at neurology appointment. It's worth gathering evidence, and mentioning it when you next see a doctor. I have a suspicion that there's always something else at play , well in my case the daily pain isn't just fibromyalgia at the moment.
I hope you have some answers, it's a complicated condition but a really real one. I too would love a day off from pain.., amtripuline and pregabalin does help lessen it though.x

I recently went to a functional medicine doctor, and they looked at past labs including a Lyme Disease test and they said it's positive. They started me on some herbal supplements, but it will be months until I feel any results. I also may have other tick borne illnesses. I remember I was bit by a tick around 12 years ago. My first ever test was negative and then a few years ago, I got another test and that's the one the physician's assistant went off of. My doctor at the time put me on atibiotics but they didn't help so they said I didn't have it. I don't know if the pain I have is fibromyalgia and lyme disease or what, but I pray I get relief. Being in pain for 12 plus years is the hardest thing I've had to deal with. I really hope you can get some relief! I've had maybe a couple pain free days in all these years.

Hi there, I have fibromyalgia, diagnosed 7 years ago, I'm taking duloxetine and amitriptyline along with paracetamol for my pain. Has anyone used guaifenesin, found it useful?
I'm trying a high protein, low carb diet for past couple of months and feel it may be helping my energy levels

I am seriously considering abandoning the fibromyalgia diagnosis and presenting with severe muscular and nerve pain . Yes fibromyalgia is real, debilitating, extremely painful and exhausting. However, pain specialists are rolling their eyes at the mention of fibromyalgia.

I was diagnosed years ago sometime after I had swine flu and was on life support for four weeks and in hospital for three months..
I spent one minute looking it up and found that the description of severe pain everywhere all the time but appearing later after activity rather than at the time fitted my situation.. At that time there was no other information about fibromyalgia.
the pain was so bad and disabling that other issues were irrelevant.

In desperation I went on a medical cannabis trial and remained mostly pain free for some years. The trial showed that CBD oil was very effective for some pain and certainly muscle spasm but to be effective enough for more severe pain , THC was required.
I am now 77 . At 75 i found the THC was affecting me cognitively and making me dizzy.
I had to stop taking it. I now take CBD oil for muscle spasm and opioids which took me 2 years of fighting to have it prescribed.
I then looked at the large amount of information now available on fibromyalgia.

I now have my other symptoms treated rather than looking for what is causing the symptoms.
I will focus on pain relief and living.

Hi Christine
I had a terrible experience with Swine flu. Many years ago when Swine flu was prevalent My doctor actually came to our house and gave me and my husband a Swine flu vaccination. Within a few hours we were both sick. My husband was mildly sick, but I was sick in bed for about a week.
I was out of my head, with profuse sweating. I was so sick and unconscious most of the time.
I am wondering if I could have caught Fibromyalgia from the Swine flu vaccination?
Thanks
Betty

hi tin 555
This is a question regarding vaccination. Vaccinations save lives . There are reactions. if someone with medical knowledge could answer this it would be great. Thanks for your response. Take care

I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia about 15 years ago. I don’t have the fatigue, but I have overall body pain. It always gets a lot worse when the barometer is falling. If I overexert a part of my body, I pay for it for days. Pain is a part of my every day and every night. I love Kratom. It has really helped me. I know several people that use it for fibromyalgia pain. Just an idea.

@toniburns123 , I appreciate that recommendation. I’ll keep it in mind, but I no longer have those pains since taking daily Hydroxychloroquine. It’s amazing! I don’t have lupus either. Not sure why it’s made such a difference, but I guess it’s because it treats inflammation. I hope I can stay on this med.

Have you ever tried it?
