Hi @larry68
I hope your MRI on Tuesday went well!
I know firsthand how exhausting all these tests can be — they really can drain our energy. But they are so important!
Now try to put it all aside until your doctor's appointment and treat yourself to a well-deserved break doing things you enjoy.

Hi @larry68
I hope you had a peaceful Easter. I'm so glad to hear you've been feeling better and that the MRI went smoothly!
In my own epilepsy journey, there are weeks when we feel good and others when we are not that great. As I've learned through yoga, I try to stay in the present moment rather than anticipating problems that haven't arrived yet — what my yoga teacher calls "anticipating possible belly pains."
Have a good week!

Hi @larry68
I'm sorry to hear you weren't feeling well this morning.
I know this has been a tough time, dealing with these symptoms without answers yet. Hopefully, they will turn out to be temporary once your doctor has a diagnosis and starts treatment.
When do you expect your test results to be ready? If they will be available within the next few weeks, would it be possible to move your appointment up to early May?
Wishing you strength and hope during this challenging time.

Good Morning @larry68
I hope you had a restful night! Quality sleep is so important for all of us with epilepsy, since poor sleep is one of the most common seizure triggers.
You asked whether yoga has helped me. My answer: tremendously. I only wish I had listened to my mother sooner!
I practice traditional yoga — also known as hatha and raja yoga — which focuses on traditional postures, breath, alignment, and stillness rather than the acrobatic postures you may see in some modern styles. If at all possible, I would recommend starting with in-person classes, so a teacher can guide your breathing and posture from the beginning.
I share here an online class with my wonderful teacher, Marcos Rojo, recorded during Covid times. It was designed for everyone — beginners and experienced practitioners alike. The class is in Portuguese, but subtitles are easy to enable on You Tube.
- Marcos Rojo – Online Practice – April 20, 2020

Alongside my hatha and raja practice, I do yoga nidra every day after lunch. This might actually be the perfect place for you to start. Yoga nidra requires no prior experience: you simply lie on your back and listen. It is deeply restorative and wonderfully calming. Here is one of my favorites:
- Yoga Nidra Meditation (as by Swami Satyananda)

Give it a try and notice how you feel afterward.
Is there a good yoga studio near you that you might explore?
Have a nice day!

Hi @larry68
Oh, I had thought your appointment was scheduled for May 29th. How wonderful that it's actually April 29th, just a few weeks away!
Definitely, epilepsy calls for ongoing adjustments to our daily routines. It's something we learn to navigate, little by little.
On that note, I'd like to share another video from my dear yoga teacher, Prof. Marcos Rojo. He was recently invited by the Brazilian Yoga Association to give a talk on the topic of limits, followed by a guided practice session — a subject that feels very relevant to us. As before, it's in Portuguese, but subtitles are simple to enable on YouTube:

Curiosity, what kinds of physical activity or exercise do you currently do and enjoy?
