Grover's Disease: What works to help find relief?

Posted by 43219876x @43219876x, Sep 23, 2016

I have been diagnosed with Grover's disease under my breasts. I had a biopsy for diagnosis. Tried topical ointment with no really good results. Any ideas?

Until you get the 5 Day Extended Patch test for Allergic Contact Dermatitis, ACD, you will only be guessing at your contact triggers.

Read this blog from mid Feb 2019. Yes for some of us, maybe as much as 50%, it can go away with a heavy metal detox, our experimenting with natural blood chelation using cilantro can be followed. My initial rash lasted 1 year, thereafter I was 6 months on and 6 months off before cilantro smoothies. No prescription ever helped.
Because of the cilantro chelation I have been clear for several years.

Removal of heavy metals sounds like a fine idea but I am following a therapeutic prophylaxis instead of getting vaxxed for the virus. I am not anti-vax but given the speed of development and rollout, I want to wait and see. Now with the war on the unvaxxed as if they are some kind of animal, I am taking a harder line on getting shot. One of the metals, zinc, is a key element of attacking the virus and its ability to replicate. So I don't want zinc removed from my system. It also appears I got GD as a result of the Shingrix vax. My development of the disease is very close to what others have reported here. So, color me skeptical.

My Allergic Contact Dermatitis, ACD, started on my hands. Turns out I am allergic to the preservative in Dawn Dishwashing Liquid, as well as allergic to ingredients in most hand creams. I had also just sprayed seat cushions with Scotch Guard and I am also allergic to the adhesive chemicals in that. Plus I was allergic to my protective gloves as they contained an element in rubber. This all started for me at age 50 and it got more severe and with faster reaction times. It is a chronic disease, meaning no cure, only avoidance.
Without the 5 Day Extended Patch Test I could never have figured out all the contacts that were causing my allergies.
Yes steroids helped me control my rashes, but it's just temporary. Steroids are a treatment but they don't stop what is causing the rash with ACD.
You must educate yourself, study this test on the internet, a common test kit is the True Test. Not all dermatologist's are licensed to perform this test, be sure to ask when you make your appointment. Allergist's also perform this test. It's a life saver. Itching and pain from eczema was making me crazy from lack of sleep.

Seems like we all have very differing symptoms--- mine coming and going for ~20 years. The rash appears to go away for the months it is dormant, and the time intervals are totally random. I am pleased to reduce the itching while active using the daily Witch Hazel splashes.

I might try a Witch Hazel application. Always wondered why someone named the stuff that way. It might work for me too
.

Thanks for the insight, that this thing hangs around like a bad smell. I have been experimenting with backing off on the prescription lotion when areas go inactive. Within days, the spots and the itches start to reappear. I am preparing for a long campaign.

Over the years I've learned that research targets diseases that are killers: Aids, Childhood Leukemia, Cancers and now Covid. Those of us with miserable chronic diseases are left out. However a real breakthrough for treatment of those with Atopic is Dupixent. It does have multiple side effects but it is giving relief to many lifelong sufferers.

Does Dupixent work for Grovers? I want the rash to go away. I’ve heard of Dupixent. I recently started taking cilantro pills, and haven’t seen that much success as of yet. This disease is debilitating

It apparently does work on Grover's. https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jamadermatology/article-abstract/2775572
It works by blocking 2 signal proteins that are implicated in many inflammatory conditions (IL-4 and IL-13). That said it does have some ocular side effects and is quite expensive where I live (Canada). I have been looking into and taking alternative supplements that also block IL-4 and 13, namely Fisetin, Vitamin E and Feverfew.

Practically no one on this site has had success with the pills. I did the smoothies for over two years with pretty good success, as most people experience. I have since stopped the smoothies in favor of the oil. It is pretty effective as well. You should go back and read the past blogs. Lots of information.
