Grover's Disease: What works to help find relief?

Posted by 43219876x @43219876x, Sep 23, 2016

I have been diagnosed with Grover's disease under my breasts. I had a biopsy for diagnosis. Tried topical ointment with no really good results. Any ideas?

Removal of heavy metals sounds like a fine idea but I am following a therapeutic prophylaxis instead of getting vaxxed for the virus. I am not anti-vax but given the speed of development and rollout, I want to wait and see. Now with the war on the unvaxxed as if they are some kind of animal, I am taking a harder line on getting shot. One of the metals, zinc, is a key element of attacking the virus and its ability to replicate. So I don't want zinc removed from my system. It also appears I got GD as a result of the Shingrix vax. My development of the disease is very close to what others have reported here. So, color me skeptical.

For over a year I have been taking cilantro capsules and seeing big improvement (knock wood as I do get occasional eruptions but nothing like first few years before I got diagnosed). I think stress plays a role too as with most health issues.

I am in my 4th year with Grovers. With me, it got worse as I also had skin bleeds easily ( treat spots wit hydrogen peroxide and wash garment/sheets).
I am a lot better now but still itch. But most of the skin bumps are gone. My treatment was/ Triamcinolone cream and Sarna anti itch lotion. But what also helped greatly was and is Light therapy in the Dermatologists office . A full box treatment(long light bulbs).
at 3 days a week maxing at 4 minutes per front and back each. Now I'm once a week at two minutes. But I skip a lot. Its a slow treatment. I still use the cream and Sarna as needed.
Good luck.

I have tried everything that is suggested, even cilantro, except phototherapy and nothing works to even ease the itching. Is the phototherapy covered by
Insurance. Also all of my hair has fallen out. I take Humira and wonder if that affects the Grovers. My condition was diagnosed.

My dr wanted me to get the Shingles vaccine but after reading others experiencing flare ups of grovers I have declined. I thought my severe grovers was like shingles. I had no problems with Moderna vaccine just a red rash at injection site for few days.
If anything my grovers has improved but don’t want to speak too soon.

Wish I could help, but I know nothing about Humiira. As far as phototherapy goes, you would have to check with your health insurance company. From what little I have read about it on this forum, I don't recall it being an answer for anyone. Try CeraVe Anti Itching Cream for the itching. Ice packs too if you can take the cold. @gardeningjunkie swears by witch hazel. These are only temporary solutions, but better than nothing. Good luck!

Just to clarify, I find the Witch Hazel refreshing to splash on my torso after showering, I pat dry in the shower and then splash it on during hot weather. I hadn't been symptomatic with active GD when I splashed it on. I did have old papuales drying up that no longer itched. It is antibacterial so may benefit us if GD is active with papules or pustules. Others with active GD said it helped with itching. One blogger said it put it into remission.

Has anyone had success with the rash completely clearing up? I’ve been going on about 7 months with the rash. I read online that it could take about a year for the rash to clear. Is that true?

Seems like we all have very differing symptoms--- mine coming and going for ~20 years. The rash appears to go away for the months it is dormant, and the time intervals are totally random. I am pleased to reduce the itching while active using the daily Witch Hazel splashes.

I have just begun with GD--about 3 months. I am very interested in all you folks have to say.

Read this blog from mid Feb 2019. Yes for some of us, maybe as much as 50%, it can go away with a heavy metal detox, our experimenting with natural blood chelation using cilantro can be followed. My initial rash lasted 1 year, thereafter I was 6 months on and 6 months off before cilantro smoothies. No prescription ever helped.
Because of the cilantro chelation I have been clear for several years.
