Is anyone on Repatha for cholesterol...

I'm taking Repatha shots every 2 weeks for cholesterol. So far, so good.
Has anyone experienced side effects...

Glad to hear that I'm not alone in finding that Repatha side effects came on more slowly. As with other statins, after 6-8 weeks, I'm again experiencing muscle weakness and working so hard just to expand my rib cage to breathe. Those side effects went away after stopping the other statins and I'm considering stopping Repatha now. I will give it one more shot this next week and hope that magically the side effects go away. This past week I've been thinking about the fact that I only weigh 100 pounds (and am short, so not skinny!). I think most meds are designed for males almost twice my size. Where are the studies on women of small stature? That was just my rant - not expecting you to have the answer.

@ohallk so sorry I had to stop the Repatha. It was poisoning me. Really scared me.

What kind of problem are you having with auto injector? I received mine but haven't started yet. I have read instructions and watched youtube video. I'm going to take first injection tonight. I wish it was just regular syringe with vial of med. Concerned I'm going to mess up.

Been giving myself Repatha injections for 6+years. Use my thigh. It hurts but only lasts for seconds. Easy.
Never tried abdomen.

My cholesterol has never been this low and I've not experienced any side effects. I am extremely allergic to statins or other cholesterol lowering drugs so Repatha has been a Godsend. Now if they'd only make it in a pill instead of an injection.

@ibchispas I am on Repatha! The only thing that has ever worked. My cholesterol is normal!!!!!

@joyeous I try to follow the directions closely but no matter how hard I press the gray button the needle fails to inject. Yesterday I thought I had it for sure. When I took the injector away from my skin the needle popped out and sprayed medicine all over me. Before giving up I asked my daughter for help and she was successful. So far I have wasted 3 injections. The company replaced 2. I spoke to a company representative and went to my pharmacist for assistance. I am a failure at autoinjection.

@phyllisq they must be defective pens, mine are very easy, I don't have to push hard at all . Been using them since 2018.

@phyllisq I had trouble as well and discovered that I could not push down hard enough on the device while giving myself the injection. Now my husband helps me and no problems. Hope this helps.

@pam2017 we had similar problem. Figured out hold shin tight and push hard and get the loud click

Yes, that what works but it helps me (lack of strength) to have my husband do it. The first couple of years I was able to do it myself.

Hi, has anyone taken, or taking, Praluent? My Part D covers it, but not Repatha.

@ohallk Thanks for saying what I often think. I often growl to myself that a dose is too big for me, too much. I am supposed to be tall and fat in this society, I guess. Sorry, I am petite and frail. Nobody would think of giving all adult humans the same size shirt, why this one size fits all thinking about many meds?

Yes- started w/repatha but was allergic. Then went to Praluent about 3yrs ago. Have had no issues but bruising @ injection site. Very happy with results.
