I'm taking Repatha shots every 2 weeks for cholesterol. So far, so good.
Has anyone experienced side effects...

I've had two doses of Repatha and my side effects are mild but difficulty sleeping now and muscle pain in my legs at night. I've started taking pain medication at bedtime for the muscle pain, but not sure what to do about the difficulty sleeping. I've never had this problem and I love my sleep! Any suggestions?

@mbbeatley Please contact your doctor and report this, don't just silently quit. Taking one medication in order to tolerate another can indeed be a slippery slope. As HomeAgainLA posted, there are more options. Also, doctors need this information for treating others going forward.

@mbbeatley my experience with Repatha was that the side effects came on a bit more slowly than with statins so I thought I was going to be able to tolerate it, but once they did come on it was bad, AND, it took a lot longer for them to go away when I quit; for a while I thought the pain would be permanent but eventually it went away.
My philosophy is that I’m not going to take drugs that can harm me just to address the side effects of another drug. That seems like a slippery slope I don’t want to go on. I either can take a drug or not.

After 6 weeks on Repatha my LPa improved from 320 to 179 which is still too high but much better. Waiting for new drugs to be released soon I hope

I am on micro doses of Terzepitide. So far, it has reduced my LPa and helps me keep my weight down, too. I don’t have any side effects.

Thank you. Good to know in case I need to discontinue it

@sueinmn Good idea. I will call my MD but hoping the sleep issue gets better over time. Does that ever happen? Most people seem to report symptoms getting worse over time.
