Tips for travelling with MAC

Would appreciate any tips for traveling: How do you clean the aerobika and nebulizer? How do you handle weekly sterilizing? Can you just use a nebulizer (with saline solution) without an aerobika (one less piece of equipment to clean) along with a travel size compressor? Looking forward to hearing how all this is handled. Thank you.

I purchased the Micro Mist disposable nebulizer set from justnebulizers.com. It is more expensive than the Vix One that you purchased The case of 50 of the Micro Mist costs about $85. Your Vix One only costs $55, which is terrific. I have one question: Does your Vix One come with the disposable tubing that is necessary to connect the nebulizer with the compressor? I didn't see the tubing on the picture displayed on the website.

@128128terry11t I have no idea if the tubing comes with the Vix One set of 50 disposables. I doubt it. I'll just have to wait and see.I'll just use the tubing I have because those can be used over and over. Nan

I got my disposable nebulizers from justnebulizers.com. I believe that you can buy them individually, in a pack of 10, or a case of 50.

I have been reading with interest the posts about disposable nebulizer parts. While they sound like a good idea, I would think twice before using them for extensive travel due to the large quantity of plastic I would be throwing away (We are "on the road" at least 40 days a year.) My husband and I both use the neb and Acapella devices. We carry a small covered Rubbermaid container, a small vial of dish soap, and a well-wrapped roll of paper towels in the tote with our travel snacks. Every evening, cleaning & soaking the devices is part of our routine - I neb first and put mine in to soak while he nebs, then repeat with his afterward. Always in our own container, and always set to dry on our own paper towels. So far it hasn't been an issue, but if I ever thought the water was questionable, we would buy distilled locally.

I am new to this group. I am being treated for MAI lung infection and Bronchiectasis. I use a SmartVest 3-4 times/day at this time, along with nebulized meds. I am interested in doing some international travel once I complete the antibiotic regimen for the MAI, but don't know how to manage the airway clearance piece/nebulized meds on a long international flight. I am hoping that once the infection is gone, I might be able to decrease the frequency of those treatments, but not sure that will be possible. I would appreciate any advice regarding international travel (long flights) and treatment management. Thank you!

I travelled NZ to London, while on treatment. Most importantly, mask up. I used a travel mesh nebuliser - cheap online, and I actually prefer that to my plug in. I took my saline in vials and bought supplies while there, online.
Take letters from your hospital or pulmonologist and prescriptions. Keep all medications in their original containers.
Oh and be aware your chest can feel like it's going to explode when you are coming in to land, if you have lungs that are hyperinflated.
Enjoy travelling again!

I checked online for a travel mesh nebulizer, specifically a Phillips Respironics Innospire Go Portable Mesh nebulizer kit. Apparently, they are out of stock everywhere and not expected to be restocked for quite some time.
If there is another recommended brand, please let me know. I appreciate your help!

Mine was just a cheapy online. I paid about $40NZ for it. Love it. Works on battery or USB. Silent and just so easy.
