Tips for travelling with MAC

Posted by terryb1 @128128terry11t, Mar 6, 2018

Would appreciate any tips for traveling: How do you clean the aerobika and nebulizer? How do you handle weekly sterilizing? Can you just use a nebulizer (with saline solution) without an aerobika (one less piece of equipment to clean) along with a travel size compressor? Looking forward to hearing how all this is handled. Thank you.

Mine was just a cheapy online. I paid about $40NZ for it. Love it. Works on battery or USB. Silent and just so easy.

I have purchased several of those mesh nebulizers through amazon, and loved the quiet and speed with which they work. I found none lasted more than three or four months used once a day, despite following the cleaning instructions with distilled water and/or vinegar. Now that I'm nebulizing twice a day the last one lasted less than two months. I did replace it, but am saving it only for use away from home. The medicine cups with the mesh are only warrantied for 3 months, so I guess that is the life expectancy.

I have not tried this for airway clearance on a trip, yet, but will soon:
1. Pari Trek S hand-held portable compressor that operates on 110 and 230V
2. Disposable 8900 Salter Labs mini nebulizers
The Pari Trek compressor is sold on Amazon, while the disposable nebulizers are offered by a number of suppliers. I ordered mine from Vitality Medical. The 50 nebs. cost me $109 inclusive of shipping and tax. They could be used for a week, washing them after each use. I would just dispose of them after each use to avoid washing and sterilizing.
Since I’m on The Vest I don’t use Aerobica. But, if you do, then you have to make arrangements to wash and sterilize.
