Reclast infusion side effects?

I had the Reclast infusion 5 months ago in my left arm. I have started having pain in that arm now, with loss of strength. Has this happened to anyone else?

laniphil54, you might ask your physician to consider a lower dose and a slow infusion. Some doctors believe that one dose every two years is as effective as one every year. Bone markers would give you a good idea if you could schedule this appointment for next year.

So far I don't have any problem. The nurse told me to make sure to drink a lot water especially right after the infusion..

I had a Reclast infusion 3 days ago. No side effects. I would rather have annual injection than weekly pills which are difficult to take. My orthopedist
And internal medicine doctor both recommended it. Just remember to drink a “ ton” of water after the infusion for a day.

With lymph node pain, I would strongly suggest contacting your PCP.

I got my first infusion 3 weeks ago and I've had nothing but problems. Better now than I was but I was very sick the first week. Question is has anybody else had ankle swelling which to me started after the Reclast infusion. My endocrinologist wants me to get a Doppler test for fear I have a blood clot but I just had one done two months ago and I do have Venus insufficiency but don't feel it's connected with that since it started right after the reclast infusion.

I have said many problems since my Reclast infusion of 3 weeks ago.. at this point, I am not planning to get a second infusion but I do have a question, I'm wondering if anybody else has suffer from swelling ankles from the infusion? I do have Venus insufficiency but I never had this problem. It all started right after the infusion. Has anybody struggled from this? My endocrinologist wants me to have a Doppler test but I just had one like two months ago for the Venus insufficiency because she fears I have a blood clot? My cardiologist does not feel that it's necessary what do you think?

It sounds odd that the endocrinologist thinks you have a blood clot but the cardiologist does not.

I seem to think any and all endocrinologist seem to alway steer away from any issue being caused by the Reclast infusion. Yet there is enough evidence to support that this Reclast can and does have significant negative effects on some people; speaking from experience. My infusion left me the following day with nausea, both shoulder pain, fatigue and my left foot pain. How I see it is the infusion attached itself to these areas. 14 months later fine particles are breaking off and attacking them selves elsewhere, yet the pain is not quite as intense, more of a really bad lameness; hurts to use my arms to steer my car. My recommendation is, stay busy, busier the better and hopefully in time these particles will void my body and things go more back to normal. My endocrinologist want me to have a different injection and recommend that I see a rheumatologist, well, he got my appointment bumped to next Friday instead of having to wait until 01/29/2026, because he assured me it is something else, not the Reclast infusion. I think he is wearing blinders! Whatever you choose to do I wish you a lot of good luck! I will not be getting any more infusions or shots. I’m gonna leave myself alone and live my course.
