Palliative Care vs. Hospice Care

Posted by Scott, Volunteer Mentor @IndianaScott, May 16, 2017

Hello caregivers everywhere! This week I am actually at the Mayo Clinic 'home office' in Rochester, Minnesota. Taking advantage of some training here and as you can expect caregiving issues were never far from my mind.

I spent a bit of time in the Cancer Patient Education Center looking at many of the wonderful resources available there for caregivers as well as patients.

I have also been searching for what free online resources are available there as well.

One online item I found a help was a discussion of the difference between palliative care and hospice care. I knew the words, but not the differences and their applications. I believe both are topics that can be of significant importance to many caregivers.

This link to a Mayo article on Palliative and Hospice Care is short, sweet, and quite understandable. Plus a safe link.

I hope it is of as much interest as it was to me.

Peace and strength to all caregivers
