My new insurance no longer covers sodium chloride solution 7%
I now have to pay in full for sodium chloride solution 7% for nebulization,
Does anyone know where I can purchase this where it's not so expensive?

My insurance has never paid for it. It costs me about $300 a year and I’ve come to think of it as part of the grocery budget. It’s so useful with airway clearance and I’m just glad it’s not more than that per year. Some have luck with Walgreens or Walmart to help reduce the cost.

2 ReactionsI just started nebulizing 7% saline last week. The specialty pharmacy at the hospital filled the prescription from my Pulmonologist as they do my Brinsupri. My Medicare D did not cover it either, though Medicare DME covered my nebulizer. My cost for the saline was $21/ 60 vials/one month supply. Jeanne

2 Reactions@heidi0974 Saline is covered under Medicare Part B, and only under certain conditions. I would say more people pay for their own saline now than have it covered by insurance or Medicare.

4 Reactions@yorkieyoli If you go to a large Medical Facility they may have a pharmacy within the facility that you can also check with.
I just recently switched to the Medical Center Pharmacy here and the price was better than Costco and Walgreens....for now anyway.

1 Reaction@heidi0974 What brand etc. did Medicare DME cover regarding the nebulizer?
Just to be sure are you referring to the cups and tubing or the compressor?
