Lanreotide injection

Has anyone got a calcified mass from the injection?
My first injection was given in the wrong place
The orthopedic doctor says it is possible that it is pressing on my sciatic nerve since my leg is in constant pain and it is hard for me to walk
I am scheduled for a MRI and a nerve test

Hello @sophiarose

I am sorry to hear of your calcified mass following the injection. I have not heard of anyone with the problem of calcifications with the Lanreotide injections. I would like to invite @laurell410 to discuss this as she has received monthly injections of octreotide. Perhaps she will know more about this.

You said that the injection was given in the wrong place. Is it possible to reduce the size of this mass?

I was hoping someone had the same problem and had the answer to reducing the mass.
I switched doctors and I am now on octreotide as of August 1st much less side effects
I had 3 injections of the lanreotide and never had a day without total exhaustion

I have only had soreness in the injection site, and mild GI issues. My nurse gives me the injection above the hip

Hello Everyone I have been on the Lanreotide injection above my hip alternating right to left side each time I have it every 4 weeks for about 18 months now, and so far I have been doing good. I have experienced mild side effects like soreness on site that has gotten a lot better, headaches which I take two Tylenol and that helps, I don’t drive for at least 24 to 48 hours after the injection that’s more convenient for me, nausea was a problem that has gotten way better but it’s the diarrhea for me. That’s been the most I’ve had to tolerate so far but I do be a little drowsy after the injection though. When I have my injection I usually don’t do to much but lounging around at home putting together puzzles, coloring 😀 just staying occupied because my MENTAL HEALTH is just as important as the Cancer I got going on and I thank GOD for this thing called LIFE….
