Current wait times for a cadaveric kidney transplant
I have searched for the average wait times for a cadaveric kidney at Mayo and haven't found resources. I've been to txmultilisting.com which is very helpful but would like to confirm their data through a separate resource.

@frayfl, I want to add my Welcome to Mayo Connect. I also want to say thank you for sharing your experience that will be helpful for others.
Congratulations on 6 years of new life with your transplant. I am 13 years post transplant (liver/kidney) from a deceased donor. I have a relative who will be getting her kidney as part of a chain next week! I can't wait to hear about her experience.
What have you enjoyed doing since the transplant?
I invite you to share a snapshot of hope in: Snapshots of hope: Life on the other side of transplant https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/snapshots-of-hope-life-on-the-other-side-of-transplant/
So good to hear about multi-listing at several centers. I am in the process of doing this but needed a list of transplant centers to see if I had support near the center to plan on. Do you have to be 1-2 hours away from the center in order to get there in time? Can't they share their testing results so you don't have to travel for a day or so of testing? What states have the shortest wait list and what are the criteria for moving to the front of the list? Thank you again for this website and I will check it out. It took me almost a year to get on the list of UC Davis due to testing requirement changes. Hope to share in the future about me getting a transplant like you. Blessings, BB
You can find average wait times for all US transplant centers at TXMULTILISTING.COM along with almost every thing you need to know regarding multilisting, including travel time information.
Transplant centers will accept test results from other transplant centers, however each transplant center I contacted required at least one face to face visit and additional testing that can take several days, depending on scheduling.
You should review travel options, I was listed at 2 transplant centers that were 8 + hours from my location via car. For those, I had made arrangements for a private air charter that could leave with a 1 hour notice, expensive and arrangements need to be made in advance. The website also includes contact info for several organizations that can assist in flying you for a transplant with minimal costs.
Your transplant center appears to have an average wait time of over 5 years, as do most in CA.
Every transplant center has their own requirements. After you review possible options, you can contact each center you are considering.
Temporary relocation may also be an option.
This web site helped me to save my life. The worse thing you can do is just sit and wait. After you review the website, please post any additional questions you have to this topic.
Good luck, get started today.
Do not wait until tomorrow.
Hello...what a great journey. May I ask..did you experience sensitive skin around your midsection near the incisions? Its like touching a sunburn! Some days worse than others. I donated a kidney 6 weeks ago. I have used an ice pack since surgery but it's so sensitive to clothes linens etc.
I had same symptoms. Went away gradually after about 2-3 weeks for me. Can take tyelenol for pain. Take Percocet only for severe pain. Topically can apply lidocaine gel or cortisone cream.
No just numbness
Me, too. I had numbness. My transplant was 13 years ago. The numbness is still there, but it is now is my normal because se I got used to it and forgot about it until I read this post!

Frayfl, thank you for this info. I looked at the site you mentioned, TXMULTILISTING.COM, and they do have a lot of info. I clicked on a Center and it took me to someone asking if I need help with the whole process and applications. Can I trust this person as not a scam? Has anyone you know used their process from this website to apply to centers? Also, did you try working with Angel Flights West, for me, to use if called by a Center to get there as soon as possible for a transplant? I really do not have local support near a transplant center in these other states, other than Phoenix. I have just sent a referral to Mayo from my doctor so will see how long it takes to process and what next steps are. Thank you for this email thread of information. BB
