Trouble with my CPAP machine

Posted by margareto @margareto, Mar 4, 2012

does anyone know of a cpap machine that does not blow air continuously. Also, nose gets so stuffed up that prevents breathing via nose. Have to remove cpap and sit up. Any up to date machines?

I have heard of a mouth insert - a dental solution, but have not tried it. I use a c-pap and had to try several different types of masks to find one comfortable enough.

yes to both. the leg is the worst since is started months ago and has now gotten to the point where it feels it is on fire on the inside. Now my arm has started to ache also. you can get a drug from your doctor for *restless leg syndrome#. It is called ropinirol but you will need a script.

I am not sure just what form of OSA you have, but I have used a CPAP machine for 30+ years now, and do not have the symptoms you are describing. My machine is a REMstar C-Flex, and it senses when I exhale, and then it stops pumping air until I breathe in again. Hope that helps. God bless your search for improvement.

I am so glad I read your letter. It pays to be aware. Yes, I have similar issues but thought it just came from stretching and work in garden. This sleep issue is so, so complex. My main issue is the stuffy nose at night. I put the CPAP off -- sit up lot. Tend to take naps at odd times. So, so hard to explain to doctor. People do not know what you are going through until you experience the same. We are all different. I have never been obsessed with health issues. I tend to seek a solution to everything and get on with life but this sleep problem has me dragging. Take care and just try to look for help and answers. There is a Sleep Association.

Can you give me more information on sleep apnea. My sleep is poor. I feel tired all the time but my fear is that I feel like I stop breathing a few x's a night. I become afraid. Thx

You should get your provider to fit you with a cpap which fits your facial structure. Also, if you have them issue you one with a humidifier it is a big help. I'm not saying I love my machine at all, and it does blow air continuously, but finally it's better after having 6 or 7 masks issued.
