Treating Osteoporosis: What works for you?
Hi. I'm new to the site and am interested in treating osteoperosis. I'm 39 yo and recently had a bone density that showed I'm at -2.4. So, going through the intial "I can't believe it" stuff. 🙂

Thank you, Justin, for your effort!
Hi Cynthia, I had a spinal disk fusion in my lower back due to degenerative arthritis in the disk. My surgery was a total success, the surgeons attached a "cage" to my spine with rods and screws to help support the fusion. I no longer have back pain, but I did suffer spontaneous fractures due to osteoporosis in my pelvic area this last July. I was told by my orthopedic surgeon that there was nothing to be done for them, that they would have to heal on their own. I did however, have a steroid injection in my saccarilyic joint to help relieve some of the pain. That was a Godsend as I was having to walk with a walker. And I'm a young 61 year old!!! I hope that you find relief for your pain, finding the right doctor and team is essential. Good luck and prayers for you!

@predictable I agree, I checked the website also and it did not seem to be what I expected.
Thank you for your response, Grammy. More to investigate, thanks to you!

Hi, I read an article about the benefits of Yoga on Osteoporosis. I thought it might be interesting to others: 12 Minutes of Yoga for Bone Health

Advanced bone support contains Strontium, vitamin mk2 & hops plus about 8 more ingredients. I have been taking it for 6 years & my bone density is good. I'm 79 years old and have had several bad falls with no broken bones. I was DX with osteoporosis in 2005. Did not have a bone density at that time, was DX by X-ray. I continue to take the Advanced Bone Support that I obtain from Advanced Bionitritionals in Norcross, GA.

When I checked the X-ray reports myself, the report said osteopenia. I was on Fosamax for 3 years & when it was switched to generic, I immediately started having problems with vomiting and burning sensation in my esophagus then I was switched to Boniva. Then on studying the two drugs & side effects, I quit taking the Boniva, but continued with the Advanced Bone Support. I am now a widow on low income and have to watch my expenses, so only take the bone support twice a week.
Hi @robbi, welcome to Connect. Do you find that taking the advanced bone support twice a week to be sufficient? Is this a reduced amount or have you always taken it 2 times a week?
