Pain around pacemaker site

I am experiencing the same issues. Mine was inserted on August 4 2020. It’s always been uncomfortable and hurts when I turn over at night. Now I am having high heart rates and sharp jabs in my left shoulder area and pacemaker area. I have an appointment in the morning. Hopefully will get resolved.

@stormlyn Hi I thought I might mention a strange feeling my wife had after her Covid Shot. It was some discomfort in the area where the pacemaker usually sits. She doesn't have a pacemaker but I thought I might mention that. It was on the same side as where she received the vaccine. So might be a possibility the newer discomfort from that. It did pass and She no longer is having an issue.
I once had a pacemaker until my heart transplant so I know a little but never any sharp pain just it would get itchy at times. Plus laying on that side did at times cause some discomfort.

I had that problem. They moved the site to the other side and also did a nerve block. That happened to me while I was living on Nc though and was at Duke. They said it’s from the nerves growing back. That wasy case I am not a doctor and I am not saying that’s your situation. That happened years after my implantation.

Who put in your pacemaker? If it was the army you need to go somewhere else to get it checked out not
The va! You should be able to lift weights after the few weeks of recovery! If they hit your ventricle that is very very bad. I had a problem
With a military hospital and if I could of sued I would of. Luckily I was just military wife any patents flew to fort Bragg and came and got me and brought me to Mayo. My mayo dr was pissed at Womack. They didn’t do things right! They didn’t even have certified specialists in certain departments. God. Also I am sorry you have leukemia . I had a.Pacemaker placed July 2020 & I am having the same pain all of you are describing, mine got infected right after surgery so it took longer to heal, but I have the burning, it always feels swollen, sometimes it is just unbearable!! I went back to the surgeon so many times that the last time, he said, "I don't know what to do for you except to just take it out", my heart rate in the hospital before my surgery dropped between 30 to 40 over a period of 3 hrs, so I looked at him & said well don't I need this to live, & he said yes, but I don't know what else to do!!! Needless to say I found another specialist! She is going to do an Echo to see if my lead wires have come loose, so at least they are trying to find out the problem. I will let you know.

I got my pacemaker in Nov. 2021. I have pain between the pacemaker and my arm pit. When I get up in the morning I sometimes feel warmth at the pacemaker sight. Saw my doctor last week and got no resolution. I understand your frustration.

I am so sorry you are you are experiencing this. Yes, definitely get a second opinion. I have basically learned about my condition via Dr. Google. Local cardiologists have not been much help at all. Just heard the term LBBB left bundle branch block from a nurse practitioner when I had my first appt. with a new cardiologist (he was too busy to see me). She informed me I needed a CRT (pacemaker) implanted and would need to wear a "vest" until it could be done. She got me all lined up with the "vest" company to come to my house and for the procedure to be done in a few weeks. Found out she must have been going by an earlier Echocardiogram which had my EF at 10-15%. She should have looked further in my file where a more recent Echo had my EF at 45.9%. And of course, layman that I am, I didn't put 2 and 2 together right away about the role EF plays in LBBB. Needless to say, my husband and I spent an upsetting evening until I figured out what had happened after googling again and discussing it with my cardiac rehab nurse. For someone new to a heart condition and never on any medication until Feb 2022, this was very upsetting. On the advise of one of the mentors with this Mayo Clinic group I have an appt with a university hospital where cardiologist specialists work with patients. My thoughts are with you. Hope everything works out OK for you.

the real concern for me was that not one cardiologist knew anything about the fda warning, in a nutshell here is what it's about.
certain medtronics azure pacemakers have glass resistors in them, which can crack, once that happens the battery will completely drain in 24 hrs. I even had doctors try to tell me that is was a software problem not a hardware problem. it is for sure a hardware problem that cannot be fixed with software. keep a eye on your pacemaker reports, I get a copy every time i go to the doctor after an interrogation of the device.

I know you posted in 2019 but I got my defibrilator in 2019 and it's 2022 and I still have chest pain and my chest is always sore around where the defibrilator is. In the past 2 MO I've been to the er 7x.they did ekgs chest xrays ultrasounds and read my device but they cant tell me why I have pain there. Do u have trouble sleeping in a comfortable position? Bcuz I have to use a blanket to put it inbetween my chest when I sleep on my side.. I'm 44
