Started Repatha - Side Effects
I had terrible side effects with statins (any statin, any dosage). For about 30 years my doctors have pushed statins and
I have resisted. Finally I agreed to Repatha. The first week I had zero side effects. With my second dose, 2 weeks in, i woke up and my joints and muscles hurt a LOT.
1. Does this side effect go away?
2. What do you know about the recent information that the Repatha trials underreporting deaths from cardiac events while taking Repatha.

@urkeymom I completely understand. I had the pain too. It was bad. All the side effects are truly awful with LEQVIO (Inclisiran). I’m hoping 1 shot will be it for me too, Yet I would like to grow much older without worrying about heart attacks, or brain aneurysms, and strokes. I wish you well.

4 Reactions@llynch17056 unfortunately Doctors do like to get their way. I’ve had a doctor bully me. I found another doctor. A lot of people think Doctors are supposed to be saints. Some are, far too many aren’t. These bad Doctors will make you feel as you are the problem, not the meds. Please, if a doctor doesn’t listen to you, or makes you feel bad, like you’re the problem. Please find a better doctor. Some times you go through a few bad apples to find a really nice one. Chin up, don’t let them get you down. I wish for you the blessing of good health.

5 Reactions@vojro2pekmozi Thanks. I am not a person to tolerate doctor bullying. I changed my primary care over statins, I changed my cardiologist over statins, and my dermatologist because I asked him not to do my annual skin exam (it had not been a year and my insurance wouldn’t cover it) and he tried to physically force me and billed me for an annual exam anyway. Really.
I love all my current doctors.

2 ReactionsA couple of days ago I administered my third dosage to myself of repatha. Yes, I am experiencing sore joints and hurting muscles. And, that is in addition to feeling like my nerve endings are sizzling! I'm not sure if repatha caused my last symptom because I have been dealing with that for almost a year. But sore joints and hurting muscles, I am not prepared to deal with because it would mean I would have to go back on painkillers. I'm already on a muscle relaxer and I am unwilling to go on any other painkiller.
Thank you for your post because I can now realize that the symptoms I'm having are probably common for someone taking this truck. Good luck and Godspeed and I will be monitoring this site to see what you decide to do. I'm going to stop taking repatha. I have too many other health issues to deal with to take this. I'm 69 years old and my carotid artery on the right side inside my head above my ear is blocked 78% and that is due to a high cholesterol diet, stress and maybe one or two other things. On September 8th I am asking my cardiologist for a full body arteriogram to determine what other arteries might be blocked and by what percentage. I want to have these things taken care of ASAP. I cannot afford to have a stroke or a heart attack because I'm raising my granddaughter and I must be here for her!

4 Reactions@prunella1111 I eat healthy and am very careful, but I’m not vegan. I eat a lot of wild caught salmon and organic chicken. I believe that if it’s not organic there are so many poisons in it that I’m not willing to go with it. I quit sodas, artificial sweeteners, fast food and ultra processed foods decades ago. So far, it seems to be working well compared to my peers. I’ll be 80 on my next birthday, but am well aware that anything can happen any day, but that’s ok. What matters to me is that I live an active healthy life for as long as possible. I have been doing yoga for 13 years, just started playing mah Jongg, do my own yard work, clean my home, clean and wax my car, and get between 7,000-10,000steps a day. One lady in my yoga class is 93 and completely independent. It all matters

I have not found a blood test for statin intolerance - can you provide a link or citation?
And, here are links to various UK based organizations discussing a recent UK study - that is worth a look - it basically purports to show that most statin intolerance is not caused by the statin.
