I'm taking Repatha shots every 2 weeks for cholesterol. So far, so good.
Has anyone experienced side effects...

I wrote previously that I experienced severe insomnia soon after beginning Repatha, although reported such side effects are rare. I know it was due to the Repathad becaue I had no problem prior to taking it.
I stopped taking it two months ago but insomnia did not abate. I am now taking Trazedone to sleep.
On 40 mg atorvastatin and 10 mg of Zetia but too early to tell if that is working to reduce cholesterol.
Repatha is very effective but apparently has many side effects.

I've had two doses of Repatha and my side effects are mild but difficulty sleeping now and muscle pain in my legs at night. I've started taking pain medication at bedtime for the muscle pain, but not sure what to do about the difficulty sleeping. I've never had this problem and I love my sleep! Any suggestions?

@mbbeatley i just had one dose of repatha 3 days ago no side effects except cant fall asleep which is a big one. I think i iwill ask my dr to hold off on next dose and go back to crestor.Crestor gave me muscle aches but not sleeping. Hoping this adjusts soon

Can someone please respond to the insomnia related to beginning Repatha. I just had one dose 3 days ago and haven't been able to fall asleep and I already take trazadone for sleep. I am not going to have another dose. I will ask my cardiologist to put me back on crestor. It won't keep my cholesterol below 65 but sleeping is a priority. Did anyone experience this after just one dose and did you go on to a second dose?

@rmasters I'm allergic to stations and so I do the Repatha injections once every 2 weeks. I'm also on 300mg of Trazadone at night. It took just 2 months and I'm back to sleeping ok.

@rmasters my first dose was like that. My 2nd was fine. My 3rd exact opposite extremely tired. Also it has produced a feeling of foreboding. This is concerning as I do not suffer from depression. I also have this sensation of leg weakness but they are not weak. My 4th shot is this week which I am dreading.

My husband is on Repatha, He has had no problems with it. The injection every other week has reduced his lp(a) by one third. His cholesterol is down to 113 and the LDL to about 35.
A new form of this type of medication was just approved by the FDA. It is taken every day in pill form. I don't know how much it costs or insurer's response to it.

I've been taking Repatha for years with no side affects,, although my sister and brother in law were on it and had to stop because of bad side effects.
