Aortic Ascending Aneurism - Share Growth Rate
Hello Everyone, I look for any thread that talk about Aortic Ascending Aneurism with Bicuspid valve and its growth rate. I got diagnose by accident for Aortic Ascending Aneurism of 4.5CM at the age of 50 and have bicuspid valve as well. My next CT scan is in June 2024.
If anyone in the same boat or diagnosis, can you please share your experience with growth rate of this Aorta over time with bicuspid valve?
I will appreciate your input and help. Thank you.

Since numbers are different with echo vs Ct. What do they go by?
@kellmom4 ....Hello...numbers may vary depending on equipment and who's doing the reading, but shouldn't vary "significantly". It may be best to do multiple readings over a period of time from the same provider using the same equipment in order to confirm size and growth rate. There may be some variation, but it should only be slight based on scanning equipment, interpreter and growth rate. Be willing to challenge or question results that seem skewed. I had an experience like this when a Radiologist examined a recent CT of mine and reported a significantly larger measurement of my aneurysm. Re-examination by my Cardiologist showed a lower measurement, which was confirmed by a 6-month followup CT.
I just found out about this the other day reading my calcium score test. It showed this on there mentioning my pervious numbers to be 4.4 and now 4.8. My doctor Eve told me about this. I see him for my biopic aortic valve
So I am a mess. So nervous. It sucks. Can’t even sleep or think.
I know you posted this in 2024. What is the update as of now?
