What helps improve osteoporosis without medication?
Hello, did anyone here try to heal from osteoporosis away from all the prescribed medications we all know of? Did you try following a specific diet? Excercise? Meditation, etc. ? Thank you

@k7226 Strontium had a bad effect on me. Gave me a terribly itchy rash. Doesn't happen to everyone apparently, but I also have Hashimotos. There are also trace amounts of strontium in Algae Cal also. I am currently in the process of getting on HRT through a doctor that specializes in that.
@kfhoz. excellent video, very helpful, common sense medicine ! Thank you !
Has anyone taken the supplement K2 (MK-7) to improve bone density and decrease the possibility of Calcium going to the arteries (soft tissue) ? My Calcium score was surprisingly high at 137 , it was 2 ten years ago. I am active, have a normal BMI and eat healthy foods. I take 500mg of Calcium with D3 daily for BMD. No Magnesium. I probably need both Mg and K2 to prevent more Ca going to my arteries. Opinions? Thanks
@jdebusk I started taking Vitamin K after reading some research papers. Below are 2 examples:
Effect of Vitamin K2 on Progression of Coronary Artery Calcification by Multislice CT Examination (2024)
https://academic.oup.com/qjmed/article/117/Supplement_2/hcae175.927/7904157
Excerpt: "Our study confirms that ... Vitamin K2 can have a role in decreasing the progression of coronary artery calcification."
Does vitamin K2 play a role in the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis for postmenopausal women: a meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials (2014)
https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/25516361/
Excerpt: "This meta-analysis seemed to support the hypothesis that vitamin K2 plays kind of a role in the maintenance and improvement of vertebral BMD and the prevention of fractures in postmenopausal women with osteoporosis."

2 Reactions@jdebusk I used to take 45mcg Vitamin K2 with my calcium, but have increased the form and dose based on this article, and others that I've read: https://drkumardiscovery.com/posts/vitamin-k2-mk7-bone-strength-review/
I found two K2 MK7 supplements on Amazon and ordered both. Not sure which one I'll stick with, I'm alternating them now. One is Sports Research Vitamin K2 MK7 180mcg with Coconut Oil. It sources its K2 as Menaquinone-7 (MK7) from fermented chickpeas rather than from MenaQ7, which is a specific branded form. This is a gel capsule with liquid contents.
The other supplement is from True Vantage and contains 180mcg of that vitamin as "MenaQ7". I read that "MenaQ7" supplements are considered superior because "they contain a highly purified form of vitamin K2 as MK-7, which has been clinically validated for its benefits in supporting bone and cardiovascular health. Their production process ensures a high concentration of the bioactive all-trans form, making them more effective than other vitamin K2 supplements." This is in a capsule form with powdered contents. The TrueVantage brand that I ordered with MenaQ7 is made in the U.S. and 3rd party tested.
Here is another article about Vit K2 dosage: https://www.gbchealth.org/blog/vitamin-k2-side-effects/

3 Reactions@kfhoz it does seem , upon reading numerous posts, that taking D3 and K2 are very important…now I’m learning there are several kinds of K2 and other Ks…just trying to help the bones without messing up the kidneys, so research continues… the posts here are helping me focus. Thanks.
