Intermittent fasting
I have been intermittent fasting 16/8 daily for over 2 months. I have lost 25 lbs. What I would like to know is it ok that I fast every day. Should I take a break , and skip a day occasionally? This program is working for me, better than anything I have tried before. I am 77 years old.

I fast every day. I do change my protocol here and there but try to stay around the 18 or 19 hour fast. Vacations take some flexibility… I just try not to go nuts and do as well as possible. Then get right back to my fasting plan once I’m home.

Welcome @sharon1944, I found a Keto diet to be a little to difficult also. What worked for me was intermittent fasting along with lowering my carb intake which was easier and helped me lose a lot of weight. You might want to check out Low-carb healthy fat living. Another thing that helped me keep track of the fasting hours was an app on my iPhone. It's available for android phones as well - https://zerolongevity.com/. I use the free version.
Is it the Keto diet part or the intermittent fasting that makes it difficult for you?
This the keto diet. I’ve struggled with carb addiction my whole life. Gained and lost weight hundreds of times of lbs. I’m soon to be 80yrs old and am gaining wt again (current wt 130 and climbing). I believe the Keto diet is the diet for me but keep sabotaging myself.
Sounds like the same problem I had. I still struggle a little with carbs but have reduced them significantly after starting intermittent fasting. Bread and snacks were the hardest thing for me to reduce. I still have it but a lot less.
Weight Watchers is the healthiest & most recommended.
I could not do everything they suggested but found portion control & maybe fasting one day a week to be manageable.
We have a superb leader/presenter so meetings are FUN!

I am really astonished from the results of intermittent fasting mentioned in this post.I have been fasting 16/8 most of the days (but not all) since April and I haven't lost more than 1 kg. I omitted carbs from my breakfast, which consists of boiled or fried eggs, a salad of veggies, cottage cheese with a drizzle of olive oil, and coffee. I have it at 10 to 11 am then I have dinner at 6 to 7 pm. My dinner is variable and usually includes carb, I am trying to omit or reduce it as well. On most days , i have a snack of coffee with full cream milk, a handful of nuts and occasionally a piece of fruit. I know I need to focus on controllin what I eat in dinner but I don't know if that will work. I am 40 years and active though I currently don't have time to exercise. The major benefit of IF , for me, is controllingy appetite, otherwise I would be eating and snacking all the time. I need to lose 10 kgs and get rid of insulin resistance and prediabetes
