Intermittent fasting
I have been intermittent fasting 16/8 daily for over 2 months. I have lost 25 lbs. What I would like to know is it ok that I fast every day. Should I take a break , and skip a day occasionally? This program is working for me, better than anything I have tried before. I am 77 years old.

@ajskseven7 all you need to do is eat anything you want during an eight hour window - you choose the eight hours during which you want to eat - and don’t eat for the next sixteen hours (most of which you’d spend sleeping at night, anyway, if you choose 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. as your eating window). You could drink only tea or coffee without milk/cream or sugar before 1:00 p.m. I am retired so I can sleep in in the morning, which makes it easier, but you could choose an earlier start in the morning and an earlier finish in the evening. As long as you eat only during the eight hour window and fast for the following sixteen you will not feel deprived.
Welcome @ziggy63, I'm certainly no expert but I think it's best to avoid anything with artificial sweeteners from what I've read and may trigger an insulin response by your body. Here's some information on the topic from my favorite Zero app site - https://zerolongevity.com/blog/which-sweeteners-break-your-fast/.
I tried doing the fasting from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.. we always eat early in the evening anyways but it hasn’t helped with my weight . I'am also on vaginal estrogen cream 1 gram twice a week so maybe thats making a difference? Could it cause weight gain ?
@ziggy63 here’s another article on artificial sweeteners, to add to the one @johnbishop provided.

I would recommend a long term water fast of 3 days. Once you do this you can appreciate being able to eat on a daily basis. I lost 20+ lbs doing 2 long term fast in a month. Now I fast 20hrs a day and eat over a 4 hour period (12:00 - 4:00) making sure I do not exceed 500 calories per hour. It takes some working up to but once you do it you will never go back. What I learned is we are all addicted to food and eat way more than our bodies need. The digestive system works 24x7 when you eat 3 meals through the whole day. I’m 55 170 lbs, work out one hour a day, 2 days a week and I was 210, pre diabetic and had gout with other bad blood issues. Now I’m 10% body fat and feel great. I use the Lumen device to track my food and see how what I eat effects my fat burn.
