Intermittent fasting
I have been intermittent fasting 16/8 daily for over 2 months. I have lost 25 lbs. What I would like to know is it ok that I fast every day. Should I take a break , and skip a day occasionally? This program is working for me, better than anything I have tried before. I am 77 years old.

Welcome @quib, Learning about intermittent fasting and low carb health fat eating was the one of the best changes I made to lose weight in addition to increasing my exercise activity. There is another discussion that I think you might find helpful in your weight loss journey.

I use the free version of the Zero app to track my intermittent fasting - https://zerolongevity.com/. Do you use an app to track your fasting?

Would you explain intermittat....
Hi @notjudgie, I see that you have already connected with @tevadog. It's great to hear that you are still excited about your intermittent fasting journey. I do think it gets easier the longer and the more that you do the fasting. @tevadog asked what motivates you. For me, it's been the only way I've been able to not only lose some weight but it helps me keep from gaining it all back plus more as it had in the past.
Here's a great video explaining the benefits - Dr. Jason Fung Discusses the Benefits of Intermittent Fasting:

There are a number of books and blogs that have information. Searched for Intermittent Fasting. I just finished “Feast.Feast.Repeat”by Gin Stephen’s. Also Dr.Jason Fung “Obesity Code”. Both have plenty of info on finding an intermittent fast schedule that works for you. I have been doing 20:4 and 18:6 windows. Fast 20 or 18 hours, eating window is 4 or 6 hours. It is not difficult if you do a clean fast. They both describe how to clean fast. It is healthy for your body to fast.
From what I have read, it is a healthy way to eat than 3or more meals a day. Many people who do IF incorporate it into their life style for health and weight loss. Gin Stephen’s and Dr.Jason Fung have written books on IF. They both contain excellent info for decision making on IF for you and your lifestyle

I recently learned from a DOAC video on women’s health that fasting for women is not the same as for men. The important thing for women is to make sure you have the fat and calories to allow you to fast safely. Generally fasting is not good for women because we don’t have the capacity. I did a 4 day fast which was absolutely wrong for me because I weighed 103 lbs and lost 10, and can’t gain it back now because I am suffering anxiety disorder. I’m 67 yrs.
