Did they ever measure the blood pressure during and after the exercise? there might be an exercise-induced hypertension, often seen with athletes. I am quite sure that you wil lfind posts in the mayo connect.

Hello Yoanne. I was recently diagnosed with exercise hypertension from a bicycle echo and cardiopulmonary stress test. But my symptoms have been present since 2006 and I had a normal exercise BP on stress test in 2012. So I don't think the high exercise BP is causing the symptoms. I think it's from a bad valve that is not being identified on echo. Thank you for your comment.

My echos before my 1st surgery didn’t show how bad my valve was. I had a cardiac cath and that showed my valve was critical and explained all my symptoms even though the echos showed mild-moderate stenosis not critical

I appreciate your post regarding your valve disorder and the fact that the seriousness of it did not show up on echos. I'm sure that you are glad that you had the heart cath which pointed out the serious nature of the valve problem.

If you are comfortable sharing more, what type of valve surgery did you have?

Hello carlysmith011. thank you for your reply. The echo you had that showed "mild-moderate stenosis not critical"...was that a resting 2D echo? or was it found on a Stress Echo? Which valve had stenosis? Did the echo show regurgitation? What were your symptoms? I really feel that my symptoms are from a faulty valve but they will not check them beyond the resting echo which was normal. Sorry for all the questions but I've been searching for an answer since 2006. Thank you.

it was the result of a 2D echo that gave me the incorrect results. a stress echo showed some slight problems, and a cath showed my valve was critical. the echo did show mild regurgitation. my symptoms where major fatigue, severe shortness of breath, tachycardia and chest pain.

I ended up getting an Aortic valve repair. I am now currently waiting for my case to be presented at the mayo surgical conference to see if they will do a valve replacement since my valve has again progressed to severe with severe symptoms

I have valve disease in my ankles, knees and thighs not allowing the blood to flow up to the heart carrying the oxygen to the heart. This affects the eyes (going blind) and other problems such as the feet and legs are slowly dying. Supposedly had ablations but of to no avail. When the procedures were done I had no feeling, no pressure, and no pain and there were no marks on the skin. Is this another way to collect medicare without doing the procedure? (These six procedures (2 ankles, 2 knee and 2 thighs.) The valves are not working to open and close to allow proper circulation. None of the relating doctors will address this issue with me. Oh boy Ocala id deadly behind the times. At age 81 it is so difficult to travel a great distance to address these issues. And, the pain in the legs is brutal. Shame!
