Hi all,
The post about Dr. Brown and the unsubstantiated claims of cure has been removed. Further investigation revealed that this member has been spamming multiple online patient forums. Please be cautious about what you read on the internet and always evaluate the source.

Here is some of the current evidence about the effectiveness of CBD (cannabinoids) as anticancer agents

There have been recent news stories about the potential promise of CBD and/or THC oil and fighting lung cancer, such as these news stories:
- https://metro.co.uk/2018/03/25/could-cannabis-help-cure-lung-cancer-this-man-thinks-so-and-hes-already-spent-1-5m-on-research-7266643/

However, you'll note that both articles are quick to point out that any potential positive effects have only been studied in petri dishes or on mice in a laboratory (in vitro). This is not the same as testing and discovering positive effects in humans. So far CBD/THC is still less effective than current drugs and dosages have not been tested or proven.

Here is more information about studies done so far in vitro from the National Cancer Institute: https://www.cancer.gov/about-cancer/treatment/cam/hp/cannabis-pdq#section/_7 (medical professional version)
https://www.cancer.gov/about-cancer/treatment/cam/patient/cannabis-pdq#section/_3 (patient version. See answers to questions 6 and 7)

The review includes a summary of currently ongoing clinical trials evaluating the safety and efficacy of cannabinoids as anticancer agents.

Colleen and @merpreb , Thanks for looking out for the rest of us! How frustrating to have someone going around doing that.

I would like the dosages and recommendations for this as well for my husband. My husband still has no definitive diagnosis on his cancer and all the doctors will do is repeat PET scans at this point. It's frustrating and scary. We are looking into as many natural and supportive options possible and CBD/THC is one that we have started but we could use any additional information. Thank you Colleen for the links to the articles.

cindylb, I have stage 4 colon cancer. Do you know the name of a reputable doctor in Colorado who would prescribe cbd oil with THC for me. I live in another state but could drive to Colorado. Also do you know the name of a reputable online drug pharmacy. Thank you for your posting. Marthagail

I don't know how the laws work so I don't know if you can get a doctor here to prescribe if you live in another state. Also, I believe it's illegal to transport marijuana from a legal state (Colorado) to a state where it isn't legal. That said....if you come to Colorado you can buy and use marijuana while here. It would be best to research the laws for your state and transportation across state lines. Here is the problem with marijuana at this point in time......it's still illegal on a Federal basis but states rights allow for people in 'legal' states to use cannabis products. I wish I were more help.

Thank you. I’m not sure what the laws are for my state but I’ll check into it.

My husband is using both CBD alone and with THC. We weren't given any suggested amounts by either our medical doctors or the medical marijuana clinic. I don't know if there any actual standards or protocols set for this. My husband is using a CBD oil of 1mg and a THC gummy of 25mg. I can't really help with specific amounts unfortunately. He supplements during with some additional CBD throughout the day via vaping (that is for the peripheral neuropathy in his feet). My husband is following the suggestions of the medical marijuana clinic. We started out conservatively and he is adding different products and amounts as we go, slowly, to see how it affects him. He has not experienced any negative side effects but we don't know if what we are doing with this is really the reason his cancer is slowing or regressing. He does have less foot pain (which is from a serious accident/injury from 50 years ago for which there is no treatment as well.)
I believe that anything one can do that seems to be helping and not hurting when one has cancer is worth giving a try. Everyone is different and I strongly suggest consulting with your doctors before starting or adding anything to your treatment. That said, two friends, one who cannot take narcotics and who is facing her seventh knee surgery is going to try marijuana to help with her pain and a second friend with pancreatic cancer just got medical marijuana and is giving it a try as an addition to treatment. Hugs to you.

I understand you put the CBD OIL under your tongue for up to 5=10 minutes. twice a day for full absorption.
