Started Repatha - Side Effects
I had terrible side effects with statins (any statin, any dosage). For about 30 years my doctors have pushed statins and
I have resisted. Finally I agreed to Repatha. The first week I had zero side effects. With my second dose, 2 weeks in, i woke up and my joints and muscles hurt a LOT.
1. Does this side effect go away?
2. What do you know about the recent information that the Repatha trials underreporting deaths from cardiac events while taking Repatha.

I was so excited about beta Sitosterol. Unfortunately, for me, it made no difference after 6 months. I was so sad about that.
@llynch17056 One shot of Repatha next morning every joint in my body hurt - much worse than muscle pain from two statins! Hospital for 2 wks on morphine for pain, could not stand or walk then wks in rehab detoxing from it! Right leg swollen with edema took 2 months to detox! No 2 nd shot for me!
@kelly48 oh my GOSH, girl. I thought it was bad, but you really got KICKED by Repatha. I’m so sorry you went through that. ❤️
@llynch17056 If these two don’t make a difference, I will try red yeast rice. I have some concern about myalgias because it is closely related to statins. It feels so good to be able to move without pain and weakness. What a difference it makes in my quality of life!
@kelly48
What are the doctors suggesting now for your cholesterol?
@kelly48 following
@con123 I totally understand. I was so excited about the Sitosterol especially because I had no side effects. But, it didn’t lower my cholesterol. The red yeast rice gave me the same side effects as statins. So sad.
It is sad that these drugs make us so sick. I have not had any heart issues except high/low blood pressure. Calcium score was zero twice. I pass all cardiac tests. I'm quite sure my cholesterol issue is hereditary, yet only one grandfather died of arterosclerosis/ early heart attack and he drank moonshine heavily and smoked from a very early age. I am not diabetic, low BMI, exercise daily and have a good diet. I'm just not willing to go full on vegan. Life is precious and we deserve to enjoy it. Will report if the durable Heart supplement (full spectrum bergamot, olive leaf, vitamin C) is helpful.
@con123 yes, please report here how that goes. I’m on Terzepitide. I’ll report if micro doses work as well.
@kelly48
Sorry to hear of that. I had to quit statins about ten years ago due to severe joint pain and my cardiologist put me on Repatha. I’ve used it for over two years and have had no adverse effects. It dropped my cholesterol from near 300 to 160 in three months.
