"Sound of Metal" vs Sound of Misinformation

Nominated for 6 Academy Awards, this drama, leads many CI users to be concerned that false information in the film will deter people from getting CIs. While the experience with sudden hearing loss that happens to the lead character is typical. Many of the statements about his experience with a CI are not. There is concern among the CI population that thousands of people who could benefit from cochlear implants will be influenced by the films distorted information. This is a drama, not a documentary so the 'facts' do not have to be true. Your thoughts?
