Sometimes, it felt like I was in a fog. Then it clears and I wonder what that was all about!
I learned to live with the roller coaster of ups and downs and identify when I was in a slump. That’s when it’s time to give yourself a little extra TLC!

It’s only been eight days! I know I don’t have much to base my experience on, but I have been looking forward to this for so long! So I’m in uncharted territory.
So much information is available about treatment side effects, but little for post treatment effects/recovery.
I’m 70, so am curious as to what symptoms are due to anastrozole and what are caused by natural ageing. Maybe due to the interruption of cancer, I may never know the natural process.
Forgive me for boasting, but I’m just glad to be through it!

Hi
You're in very early days my fatigue didn't hit me until 3 weeks after I was home. I did not take an AI. I found a very good group online they do zoom meetings Mondays and Fridays you can go on and join breast cancer.org . Once you get into it you can sign up for the meetings the ones that are done treatment. Good luck 🤞

How are you keeping the breast cancer from coming back if you are not taking aromatherapy inhibitors ?

Hi
Well I was very lucky because I was dcis ER pr positive Her 2 negative and stage 0.
It was enclosed in my milk ducts so they removed it and I did not have anything in my glands under my arm they only had to remove one and it was negative.
It was not mandatory for me to take an AI I did try tamoxifen for 3 weeks but could not tolerate it I already have osteoporosis and I have three compression fractures in my spine so basically it was my choice and my doctors were fine with that.

I was diagnosed with DCIS in 2002 the year my was a college senior. Two lumpectomies and 30 fractions of radiation later, I was finished with all treatments! I was 56 at that time. Through the years my mamos were clear. Then in 2024 my husband of 55 years filed for divorce, I was 77, and I was diagnosed with ILC!
My surgeon recommended a mastectomy and reconstruction, but I refused both. I feel terrific w/o a husband and w/o any type of treatment! I fully comprehend how fortunate I am to and continue to do whatever I can to help and support others. I do a huge amount of my own research on my condition to keep updated about possible new treatments in the pipeline.I’ll turn 80 in 2 months, having outlived my mother by 16 years. She died of uterine cancer back in the dark ages (1981). I live by an entire set of new mantras. Here’s just one …
“Do or do not, there is no try: YODA”
You can too, just keep doing the very best you can and thank (God or whatever power you rely on) for each day that you can continue to DO!

I took me over a year to get past fatigue. What helped me was/is acupuncture. I continue to receive treatment on monthly basis. I also do pranayama and healthy yoga.
