Phlegm in my throat and post nasal drip after Covid
Ever since I had covid in January of 2022 I recovered from the virus but I was left with a constant phlegm in the back of my throat and post nasal drip that will not go away. The feeling of having mucus in the back of my throat actually gets worse when I try to get rid of it by coughing. I have been given steroid inhalers, albuterol, allergy medication, but none of these work. The mucus gets worse especially after I eat. I've never felt like this before and it all started after covid. Can anybody relate to what I am going through?

It is that’s where I’m from - you could probably go to the fusion website and see if they ship internationally. Hope so! It tastes so bad but you mix it with a bit of warm water and scull 15mls 3 times a day.

I have stopped the oral steroids, still using the fluticasone spray in the morning. I think the biggest benefit and positive change has been eating around 1 oz of dark chocolate (70% of greater cocoa) each morning. The dark chocolate acts to calm and coat the throat and I truly believe and experiencing it's anti-inflammatory properties. I would highly recommend this natural remedy and please let me know what you think. I hope it helps.

1 ReactionI love the idea of being assigned to eat 1 oz of dark chocolate in the morning. If it would clear up the phelgm that would be wonderful! What type of dark chocolate do you find that isn´t sweet?
Yes! I had covid in Dec 2020. Never had issues before but now I have the phlegm all the time. I have been on steroids and antibiotics. It helps for a short amount of time and then it's back. I cough all the time. I've had CT scans and it has showed ground glass opacity and I do have very small nodules in my right lung. Nothing malignant.

1 ReactionI have been fighting this for over two years. Now on Pulmacort inhaler 2x morning 2x night. Use in morning helps in clearing lungs of thick mucus. Also on Montelukast sodium night only and Fluticasone nasal spray 3x morning only. Thus combination has provided about a 50% ease of symptoms. Also drinking lots of water. Have tried Claritin and non steroid Nasalcrom prior to the above combination with no positive effect. Good luck to you!
I thought I was going crazy! The post nasal drip is horrible! Azelastine nasal spray is the only thing that has helped. I have been to 2 different ENT's and am so glad I found this post! I never had post nasal drip and it started when I tested positive for covid last July.
I wonder if I should try Azelastine nasal spray. I can’t tolerate Claritin, even a child’s dose, due to causing dry eye. I battle dry eye daily anyway. And, I can’t tolerate Flonase, as it caused me very blurry vision. It was substantial, or I would just try to tough it out.
I didn’t see that either of this is listed as side effect of the Azelastine.
