Anyone have pelvic floor disorder and pelvic floor physcal therapy?
Hello. I am hoping for some help. I have had pain for years from Endometriosis. After 4 laparoscopies and an ovarin torsion surgery I finally flew out to GA to have a hysterectomy from a specialist. I also had my tubes out, uterus and one ovary removed- I am only 41 so we kept one to prevent menopause. It has been a few months since my procedure (March) and I am having pain again. I was told to do pelvic floor therapy to help. I did go once but I did not feel very comfortable with the doctor or the location so I didn't go back. Unfortunately there is little to no one that does this near me. I am just wondering if anyone has had this therapy and if it helps or not. I did buy the wand to try and use at home but I am honestly not sure what I am doing! I just know I am frustrated to be in pain again. I appreciate any guidance. Thank you!

1 ReactionI had pelvic floor therapy after a hysterectomy a few years ago. It was moderately helpful. My therapist made me feel comfortable (as comfortable as one can be in such a situation) and was truly knowledgeable and helpful. I can imagine that the wrong person would be a turn off.
Best wishes as you pursue other options.

2 ReactionsI have been using a pessary for about 2 years and have been experiencing
vaginal bleeding.
My gynecologist told me to stop using
the pessary until the bleeding stops.
Now, about 6 weeks later, I still have bleeding.
I'm concerned about the possibility of cancer and wonder if I should give up using the pessary altogether.

1 Reaction@carolel6535 I dont have an ansswer but would suggest you have an internal exam. At age 45 I started to have bleeding form there for no reason especially after bowel movement... (pressure) told by 3 drs nothing wrong but I had Cancer of Cervix Stage 2. While I do not want to scare you, because you are already wondering abougt cancer... perhaps you could have an internal and rule out that possiblity. Mine had gone to Stage 2 .. and was size of apple.... years ago now but I wish I had insisted on that exam, best of luck. J.

2 Reactions@carolel6535 Welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect. We aren't medical professionals here however we provide one another with emotional support through sharing our own stories and compassion for one another.
I can understand why you are concerned about the vaginal bleeding. Are you post-menopausal? Vaginal bleeding or spotting is a sign that something needs to be checked it. It can be a sign of cancer but there can also be many other medical explanations .
In our place I'd go back to my gynecologist and insist on a pelvic exam and tests to determine what is causing the bleeding. When I went to my gynecologist for post-menopausal bleeding, I had a pelvic exam and then he ordered an ultrasound. In my case the ultrasound showed a lot thickening of the endometrium (uterine wall) so then I was scheduled for a D&C (dilation and curetage). Others here had endometrial biopsies in the gynecologist's office. I was diagnosed with endometrial cancer (endometrioid adenocarcinoma).
I don't want to scare you anymore than you might already be scared. I shared my story because many of us here have had to advocate for ourselves when something did not feel right and really push our medical providers for more investigation.
Will you call your gynecologist's office today and get an appointment? If the appointment that is offered is more than one month away I suggest taking the appointment and then asking to be put on a list to get an earlier appointment if there is a cancellation.

2 ReactionsMy Pelvic Floor PT is in GA and is very good. She helped me through some difficult times. I'm not familiar with any others. When I was living in west TN, I was younger, didn't hurt all month long so didn't need one there. Seems like I read that if you keep an ovary, which is understandable for your age, endometriosis comes back.
