Neuropathy Pain at Night: What helps?

Posted by Donald @donfeld, Jun 8, 2020

THC or marijuana for me relieves pain from neuropathy. It works every time takes a few minutes and a few puffs of smoke and it comes it down for some crazy reason that makes this drug so popular.

I have diabetic neuropathy. Tried gabapentin and mm which didn’t help. Currently using Susan’s CBD Super Salve (push up stick) at night on feet to sleep or if needed in day. It’s $75 per tube but it goes a long way. It works on nerves and muscles. Works on my fibromyalgia points. Also take a muscle /nerve relaxer twice a day called Baclofen. No side effects for me. Doesn’t make you drowsy or fatigued. Wear toe socks at times which helps in walking. Found some good suggestions from many especially the Tai Chi. We are all individuals and must find what works for each of us. So thanks to all of you

Hi @seeker03, Welcome to Connect. You are so right about each of us needing to find out what works to help our symptoms. Just in case you haven't seen the site, I thought I would share this link to the Foundation for Peripheral Neuropathy - Living Well page which has a wealth of information including research, different treatments and therapies: https://www.foundationforpn.org/living-well/

Has anyone tried PT or massage or even acupuncture (through a neurologist office)? Would like to hear if anyone has any good results from any of these 3 therapies? Please share!

Thanks
Sheila 🙂

Try some CBD oil drops. There is a lot of new information on how it helps with pain and it has done a lot for an elderly friend with terrible arthritis in his shoulder.

Here are a few reasons why neuropathy is/can be worse at night according to the the Cleveland Clinic.

Back when I had neuropathy pain it was worse during the day, especially when standing still.
Take care,

This article is not very helpful. I have done so much searching and it seems that no one has the answer. To the contrary, there are many opinions. Many the same as those from Cleveland Clinic.
I have mentioned in other past posts we now have the Foundation for Peripheral Neuropathy. I hope that in their research they find the answers to our questions about our disease.

I'm currently trying thermal socks to compensate for the drop in body temperature at night and thereby reduce the nerve pain in my feet. They were suggested by someone in this forum.
