Anyone been prescribed Ohtuvayre (new med)? Your experience?
Has anyone been prescribed the new COPD medication by their treatment team....Ohtuvayre? Just wondering if it now active, how it is effecting patients and how well it does/doesn't work

@lisa4trump I’m glad the ohtuvayre is helping you, I’m on it maybe little over a year, I had a lot of issues breathing and after I was using it it definitely helped me big time, I told my doctor it was a miracle drug, you mentioned only once a day because it gave you energy in the night, I’m wondering maybe that’s why I’m up so late because I can’t sleep lucky if I get 4 hours, I may change when I take it just to see, good luck stay strong
@lisa4trump may I ask what stage your lungs are in? I used it for 2 wks & ended up with an exacerbation bc of all the Oak allergies that have come through here in South Texas,..So I will try again once off all the Prednisone..
@kndaustin71
the 2 weeks I was on it, It helped me cough up large chunks of mucos..but it effected my taste buds..so we'll see
@suzyq61
How long did it take for you to notice it works?

1 Reaction@tjphillipp honestly I can’t remember how fast but I can say it wasn’t a long time before I definitely felt the difference. I’m
On it about year and a half, Time now has passed and last September I started to become out of breath walking around my house so now I’m on nucala also, I got my first injection 3 weeks ago and I’m starting to feel better and moving around better then I was .
@pattymc Interesting you mentioned oak allergies. I have found that I too sometimes have exacerbations when I am around oak leaves and dirt when weeding...I try to watch when I am working around the flowerbeds, but sometimes it gets me. As i previously wrote, the ohtuvayre was a negative for me, made my breathing a LOT worse, improved after I was off it a couple weeks.

1 Reaction@suzyq61 what is Nucala
@tjphillipp it’s a once a month injection , I’m going to copy an paste some information,
Nucala is a biologic medication, specifically a monoclonal antibody, used to treat conditions like severe eosinophilic asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) with an eosinophilic phenotype, and hypereosinophilic syndrome. It works by reducing the number of eosinophils, a type of white blood cell that can cause inflammation in the lungs.
They did blood work on me and I had plenty,
Now before the infection I was out of breath a lot, now I’m 3 weeks in and I’m walking around my house not being out of breath. It took probably two weeks to feel a difference. Everyone’s body is different some medication may work for one but not for another but it is helping me, only thing I noticed in the beginning I was very tired but not no more, after the 4 week I go for my second injection. Hope I was helpful on this
@suzyq61 okay I don’t have the eosinophils issue so no asthma. Thanks
@tjphillipp that’s great, I don’t have asthma issues either thank god, dealing with enough
