@trussgirl, Welcome to Mayo Connect. I am a transplant recipient and a volunteer mentor. On Connect, we welcome stories and experiences of transplant patients, donors and caregivers. It is by sharing our experiences that we are supporting others and promoting the gift of organ donation.

Here is a discussion where you can post your story as your husband's caregiver. If you click on the blue link you will be taken directly to the discussion. I look forward to reading it! Hey Everyone,

In yesterday's blog post, you can read about how to approach the holiday season and COVID-19. We talk about ways to safely celebrate without the concern of spreading or getting COVID-19. Please read and share with your family and friends, as many of us are struggling with this topic this year.

Hello everyone, I hope you are all staying safe and healthy. We've had some excellent weather so far here in Minnesota so we thought we should publish a post highlighting our Minnesota transplant center before it is all covered with snow! In today's blog post you can read about some specialized services from our Mayo Clinic Minnesota practice in part 2 of our location highlight series. Happy reading!

I've been so busy following all the amazing discussions you are all having, I forgot to let you know that we posted a new blog post yesterday. The topic is one that we could all use a little more help with during this pandemic/vaccine time - stress management! If you could use a little refresher on the tools to help manage your stress, this might be just the short reading for you. Take care everyone!

Hi all! Our recent blog post to share with you is another "Meet the Expert" post. Meet Dr. Aqel, the director of our liver transplant program at Mayo Clinic in Arizona. I bet you didn't know about his love for soccer. Check out the post! Mayo has some of the most caring and interesting physicians in the country. We love to highlight a small part of their personal lives and philosophies so you can get to know them like we do!

Thank you,I really appreciate y’all, I contracted the top five living liver donor hospitals. It’s a lot to learn and find top Doctors and hospitals. Insurance approved the transplant and I’m a blood match and body size I’m healthy and 62, She is 57 diabetic and alcoholic, she didn’t have six months. We will sign a waiver, If I can find a Doctor to transplant. Its prepaid and I’m her donor. It makes no sense to let her die it should be my choice to donate not a few years in age, I will never comprehend Doctors not trying even if she dies in surgery to get sober. her meld score is 22, no rehab would take her,so she give up.
