I was diagnosed with stage four lung cancer in 2016 at which time they hit me with the “big guns” (chemo) which blew a hole in my right lung and was assured I’d be dead in 2 weeks, however I was busy with much unfinished business so…still here, don’t know if that helps you any but I consider myself a stage 4 cancer survivor- course that’s just so far today so… I’ve often thought that the medical team/staff whatever might kill me before the cancer gets around to it- gotta watch those guys and I’d recommend self educating and read all their medical/clinical notes as many are somewhat notorious for leaving out lots of details.

@rlf66 hi, after I didn’t die and the hole grew back in (scar tissue) they put me on an immunotherapy drug called Optivo and it doesn’t work on everyone when it does work it works everywhere- on that til 2018 and went into remission. Had bladder cancer twice and being treated by oral chemotherapy for stage 4 prostate cancer. It’s truly a gift that keeps on giving. Me, I hold my head up, try not to think too much about it and live in the moment- stay positive and live while you’re alive and enjoy your holidays. Did I mention I’m kinda hard to kill? I fight back. I will ask the creator of all things to help you and remember health care industry comes up with new stuff all the time so why not for you too? Get better & be better

@rlf66
I was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic non-small cell lung cancer in June 2024. I’ve been receiving treatment every three weeks with carboplatin, Alimta and Keytruda, as well as Zometa to strengthen my bones, since the cancer had spread to the bones.
We dropped the carboplatin and sometimes I have to skip the Alimta because if kidney issues and of anemia. I’m one of the lucky ones with very few negative side effects.
We’ve dropped the Zometa too as I developed osteo-necrosis of the jaw bone… which is potentially horrific, but I’m not going into details here. I’m hoping it clears up with the prescription mouthwash I have. We caught it early, so fingers crossed. So far I’ve been mostly grateful that the side effects are minor and the drugs seem
to be working for now.

@chebo1954 thanks so much for getting back to me. I have just began the Optivo on 12/2. Alomg with chemo. Again, one more treatment w/chemo and immu in 20 days. Then after that every six weeks only the immuno indefinitely. Hope it wors for me. Question how could u end up w/two more dif types of cancer? Do u believe you had them metz which u did and doctors did not know were posibly seeds from original tumor? Mine cannot be surgically removed or radiated. So we r going with what my oncologist suggested. Thanks again, why NOT me? I am a fighter and believe in God. I need to do so many thing on this earth before I depart. This is NO time for me to not fight harder every day! Stay blessed. Happy holidays. rlf66

@jolloyd51 Thanksfor sharing. I am praying the two chemo drugs u mentioned work for me. I am on immuno Optivo too Two sessions of both then only the immuno every 6 weeks. My orblem was that I did not know I had cancer until third week ofm August when my doctor removed a huge like pimple from my right temple sent in to pathology and came back cancer from my left lung. It has also metz to the lymph nodes next to both lungs. Currently on chemo two sessions every 21 day along w/immu. Then only immuno every 6 weeks. Hope to God that it takes care of business. Lucky only had one day dirrhea from the 12/2 treatments. Best to you my prayers w/you and yours and blessing for the holiday season, rlf66

@rlf66 that’s a good attitude- I forgot to tell you that death has come for me more than once, but I had to send him away as i just have too many other things that need to be resolved - sounds like you do too so just send the prick away, tell him maybe later. I suspect you’ll be fine! Later
