I was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic non-small cell lung cancer in June 2024. I’ve been receiving treatment every three weeks with carboplatin, Alimta and Keytruda, as well as Zometa to strengthen my bones, since the cancer had spread to the bones.
We dropped the carboplatin and sometimes I have to skip the Alimta because if kidney issues and of anemia. I’m one of the lucky ones with very few negative side effects.
We’ve dropped the Zometa too as I developed osteo-necrosis of the jaw bone… which is potentially horrific, but I’m not going into details here. I’m hoping it clears up with the prescription mouthwash I have. We caught it early, so fingers crossed. So far I’ve been mostly grateful that the side effects are minor and the drugs seem
to be working for now.

@jolloyd51 Thanksfor sharing. I am praying the two chemo drugs u mentioned work for me. I am on immuno Optivo too Two sessions of both then only the immuno every 6 weeks. My orblem was that I did not know I had cancer until third week ofm August when my doctor removed a huge like pimple from my right temple sent in to pathology and came back cancer from my left lung. It has also metz to the lymph nodes next to both lungs. Currently on chemo two sessions every 21 day along w/immu. Then only immuno every 6 weeks. Hope to God that it takes care of business. Lucky only had one day dirrhea from the 12/2 treatments. Best to you my prayers w/you and yours and blessing for the holiday season, rlf66
