Internal Body Tremors and Tinnitus
I am a 47 year old female who has been in very good health most of my life. I work out daily. In January I had sudden elevated blood pressure and feelings of heart racing/palpitations. I was put on 25 mg of Losartan. An Echo and 7 day heart monitor were normal. 3 weeks into taking the medication, I developed ear ringing and feeling shaky. I was switched to Coreg (beta blocker) to see if symptoms improve.
Symptoms progressed to feelings of internal head vibrations/quivering and sometimes into chest and abdomen as well as a feeling of shakiness in my limbs off and on. I had a CT Scan and MRI as well as lots of blood tests including checking thyroid and hormonal/adrenal gland issues. All tests normal. Saw an ENT for the tinnitus and also tell me everything looks normal. Only reference in MRI was that the bilateral anterior inferior cerebellar arteries are coursing in close proximity to their respective 7th and 8th cranial nerves. Neurologist didn't think symptoms were typical of neurological diseases so these are ruled out for now. He isn't sure but only speculation that it's possible arteries have irritated cranial nerves but had no treatment to recommend. I have days when the head and body vibrations are unbearable and days when they are more manageable.
Sleeping is challenging and I started on Gabapentin (Neurontin) at bedtime which has helped my sleep. I am also now off all blood pressure medications and my blood pressure is normal again. I have perplexed my doctors. Seeking any insight here. I am beyond frustrated. Not even sure if the Blood Pressure issues and meds caused this or just coincidence in timing. Seems I have some sort of internal tremors but no tests show why yet.

What have you done to help yourself? Any answers for you yet? I am having similar stuff going on with dizziness and no one can tell me what is wrong. Just curious on what you figured out. Thanks!
Any insight on what you had? I am at a point where I NEED help to find an answer.
What did you do to help? I am at my wits end also with all this.
Hi,
There appeares to be many causes. I was initially diagnosed, incorrectly, with Menieres disease, then psycological issues, then related to my high BP and finally the penny has dropped, I actually have Dysautonomia causing my symptoms. Only taken 13 years to get to this point. Meantime I have had to learn how to live with the symptoms of tinitus and internal tremors, among other issues. They are always in the background and occasionally get the better of me. I managed to get a small period symptom free, but that only happend when vertigo threw me off the roof giving me a lot more to worry about than the tremors and tinitus, not a recomended cure! Until I got used to the Tinitus I used to plug in an earpiece and over power the noise with better tunes. Now days it is there but it no longer bothers me. The internal tremors come and go at their pleasure. I can't find the trigger but have had a sudden chill to the body set it off. I can have tremors all day like I'm freezing but yet the body is hot and the reverse can also happen. Taking a calm drive with few others on the roads can also trigger it, the best I can do is live with it, ignore it and sometimes be free of it. I just take each day as it comes ever hopeful the next day will come.
Cheers
@kkinsley did you ever get a diagnosis or solution to your tinnitus and internal tremors?
It seems to have been caused by my transition into menopause. I had so many tests and nothing revealed anything alarming but the timing was in the throws of my transition into menopause. Shocking how many doctors didn't figure it out for a long time. I am feeling significantly better but still have them less severely.
That’s what my GP thinks this is. I’m an active 67yo well into menopause and the internal tremors & tinnitus came out of nowhere. He suggested I try Hormone Replacement Therapy as they now know the benefits outweigh the negatives. I haven’t started it yet as we’re checking out other things first. Thank you for your response!
I went on HRT as well and it has helped these symptoms somewhat. I am 51 and started HRT about 2 years ago.
