Thank you for your question. It is an example of how we help one another- even unknowingly. I picked up the 7% Saline from my pharmacy yesterday at a cost of $52.99. Over a year’s time that is a difference of $120.
Next time I need a refill I will go through Good Rx. Does anyone else have any insights about lower cost for 7% Saline? TIA
I use GoodRx and get 2x day for 30 days under $11.00 at Walgreens pharmacy. I'm in Delaware.
Sodium Chloride 7% vial twice a day, 120 days supply, I paid $10.00 at CVS Pharmacy, in AZ.
I do not know where you live, but Temple University Hospital Pharmacy (Philadelphia) mails me 60 ampules every month for $20. That might change with the tariffs, but I have been paying that for at least 4 years. They pick up the phone too if you call around 7:00 a.m.
I have Cigna as well, they cover my 3% saline with a script from the Dr. It is fulfilled by their mail order division Express Scripts. So far my Dr wants me to stay on the 3% but it seems likely Cigna would also cover the 7% but might require the Dr to prescribe both the saline and the compressor.
I have kaiser in Northern California. It is a 30day supply at $10.
I am with Kaiser Northern California and I get 90 days, 180 4ml vials, for $20, mail order. For those with Kaiser, your copay is lower if you order by mail, versus pick up in pharmacy.
I'm on united health care and they have paid for my levelbuteral and my saline. I'm also taking treatment twice a day for asthma, COPD, and MAC.
I would call and ask your insurance if the 90 supply is better. For my Bevespi inhaler, when I only got one, I had to pay a co-pay (even with 2 insurances) and when I got the 90 day supply, I ended up with no co pay! Go figure! Maybe if pulm dr will write for 90 days it would be better? Just a suggestion.
