I am finally giving up COVID can have me

Posted by billie6977 @billie6977, Jan 23, 2023

After now being 7 plus months of being tortured, over looked, and passed up. I am here to tell you all I am done trying. The pain of rejection hurts more than the pain left behind from Covid. All I wanted when I tried to make contact with the Mayo Clinic was for a doctor with a little knowledge of what is happening with me to just speak with me, but nope. I was sent a email stating there's no resources for me they were sorry to inform me my application was closed. That is it besides you can't contact this email. No reply!!!
I reached out to everyone and everywhere I could and nobody and I mean nobody responded. Except for the normal I will pray for you, called me a drug addict ( I don't take meds even so how is that), lie to me and lastly there is not one red care in this world for me. So I am here to say Thanks for nothing folks. I am done if I die nobody is going to care. I bet not one person has even read this message.

In case it helps, I recently ready about scientific findings that suggest that long COVID may be reactivation of buried from past illness. Now, Iay saying it inaccurately from memory, but it won't hurt to look into it.

If that is the case for you, possibly it could be a clue about why you're having specific symptoms. I can't say for sure because this is simply my hopeful thought without knowing how scientists and physicians view it. Also, when people get shingles decades after their chicken pox illness from childhood, the symptoms are different. So, it might not be fair to assume a reactivated virus would produce the same symptoms as before. Again, a scientist or physician may have a more accurate and helpful way of explaining this.

One thing a can say for sure is that individual doctors don't know everything and many may either not be up to date or may not be referencing the latest findings because they might not have been verified or reproduced and any treatments may not be considered to be the standard of care.

Even when having access to to doctors, I often end up essentially treating myself in safe natural ways after doctors look at me with deadpan expressions and say, "I don't know." I read the scientific literature directly until I find clues to what might help and the a cautiously try the safe things I've found or that were implied in my readings. It often works. Be careful, though. I sometimes ask, "If I do this for 6 weeks, will it hurt me?" If the answer is "No," I move forward. If they say that about a medication, though, I'm more conscious and read what the medical literature says and more.

I completely understand how you feel! You are not alone. But don't give up... never give up. There is hope. As more research and studies are completed there will he gradually more treatment options. I have taken many supplements including special resolving mediators, Fisetin, l arginine... nothing was helping. I had to cut back to .75 at work and have special accomadations. But then my doctor at Mayo, in the chronic covid clinic, recommended low dose naltrexone at 4.5 mg daily. It hasn't even been 1 week yet but I already feel better! For the first time since November, 2020! I have more energy and stamina, mood is better. It's not a miracle drug but finally something that helps! No side effects other than mild interference with sleep so I take it in am instead. And cymbalta also helped me too but I had to stop taking due to side effects. So ask your doctor about these options! Low dose naltrexone has to be filled at a compounding pharmacy but they can mail it to you.
Hang in there! We are all in this together!!! Chins up!

Interesting re chicken soup. I’ve got post Covid thick nasal drip. My earlier note was getting some relief at long last at night and for once managed 7hrs but it come back day time. See acupuncture note. As a Dr who believes in holistic therapies having a place, I looked up and there’s an explanation re the soup, it affects the white cells and in turn phlegm gets less thick. I’ve found this along with sips of hot squashes no meds have helped.

Hello it's been a little while since I logged in. But I wanted to answer your response. Unfortunately there really isn't meds that help and at this point in time I have to agree that Holistic Medicine is where I have found the most relief. Not sure if you have tried Hyspicis tea or Mullins Tea? Both have helpt loosen up the mucus and also gives you a boost in energy plus, it builds healthier blood cells. I hope you are having a good day when you see this.

Hello. I see the red on your cheeks. I had this too. Try a low histamine diet and see how your body responds and how you feel. You may want to keep a log of each food you eat and write down the reaction you have. If you find the low histamine diet works, look into MCAS. I have read antihistamines (H1 and H2) helped others as well. Rest as much as you can and drink lots of water. It just takes time and dedication to healing yourself.

@law59 Very nice to always hear from you and hope you are progressing positively. With the weather changes so quickly I have had a little set back but either I have just learnt to live with it or kidding myself. Either way I am above ground. So nice to hear from you. Take care🌞

@sarahx My husband and I have been looking into the fact of that Covid mimics past health issues and when I say I so believe there is some truth this theory for sure. As I was saying to Law I am either learning to live with it or I am just kidding myself every day has it's struggle and still not a Doctor in our Region has a clue. We continue to do the same. We research and test what helps and what hurts. I still can't work , but I have started up a business with my husband and it is already making money and it helps to keep all this Long COVID off my mind. We also keep track of when an issue may arise. Prayers for you and your family.

I hear you and share your frustration. Hope we can find a place of acceptance without feeling abandoned. After over 6 months I am accepting I will not recover, unless there is a medical breakthrough. I am determined to be thankful for the good things.

My post lost again☹️ Try again hopefully in kind light intended. This journey is so complicated, frustrating and so different for each of us based on our responsibilities and how we can “really” recover. I was the one who did it all and cared for others and now year later I am getting rides from daughter to get out of house for monthly bank errand etc🙃. But I am better! Just a very slow process so hard to maneuver and yet as you said are still good unimaginable gifts- I was caring for my mother and had to say “I cant do this” and looking back I was given the greatest gift of laying in a bed pushed next to her to say my private goodbye over the course of a whole morning which I would not have done otherwise. I hope everyone finds the time , grace and gifts to maneuver this journey to full recovery!🌈
