Good morning, my name is Norman Chester, I have been diagnosed with Afib, I'm currently taking Diltiazem SR 120, I've been taking it for about 3 months to control my heart rate, it got very fast, I'm also taking eliquis, for blood clots, to keep new ones from forming, I haven't had any procedures yet, there's a possibility I already have a blood clot in my heart, have a Merry Christmas

Hi I’m Lorrean, for Afib I had first stent, then 3 yrs ago The Watchman! Everything went fine except now it’s NSVT which now I am on 100mgs of Amiodarone (3 months) doesn’t seem to do much just makes me feel tired. Also baby aspirin daily. Anyone out there with this condition?!?

@gloaming I recently had my second AFib treated by ablation. I don't know how other people are able to tell when they have AFib. I don't know when I do. So, please, can you please help me with clues as to how I can tell when I do.

@normanchester All best wishes. You may need to be a bit pushy about getting a procedure in a timely way. I waited 5 months! I'm in California near San Francisco and we have a shortage of specialists --the cost of living discourages doctors from moving here which is a shame because it is beautiful here.

@too I don't know much about Amiodarone but what I do concerns me., especially since I'm elderly. Please do a search and learn more about it.

@sweetmarie4me2 I do know the adverse side effects, and plan on talking to my primary, my cardiologist is the one who prescribed this medication! I think it’s making me feel worse! Thanks for replying.

Previously, I had supra ventricular tachycardia and had 2 cardiac catheter ablations to resolve it. For about 7 years everything was fine.

But recently, I noticed a very fast heartbeat when I exercised on my spin bike. My heart rate would jump from 85 to 185 and then bounce around from 120 to 170 or so. My cardiologist prescribed a 2-week monitor and it showed A-Fib. I was prescribed Eliquis and I am seeing my doctor early in January. I will be 82 in February.

I'm a month post-ablation, very stable, except I was prescribed an Albuterol inhaler for a bad cold and congestion. I got palpitations and my heart rate spiked into the 150s overnight, so I stopped using it. Anyone else have that experience with this drug?

I was diagnosed with sleep apnea and low oxygen at night. Now on BIPAP and oxygen. Still have shortness of breath so tested for lung problems. Diagnosed with exercise induced asthma. Prescribed Albuterol. Used it before exercise. No discernible effect. Don't know if I had side effects, but I just stopped using it as well. I wonder if the NP who prescribed it was aware of my heart palpatations or not, but because of your experience, I will make sure the new lung testing people are aware. Thanks for posting.
