GLP-1 Drugs Causing Arrythmias
My cardiologist suggested I start taking a GLP-1 drug. I have read those could cause arrhythmias (my problem). Has anyone had any experience with GLP-1 drugs ?

@kpryor1982 thank you for your reply. I am on a lower dose, 2.5.
@deniseheart maybe go down. I’ve lost 31 pounds in 6 weeks on the lowest dose possible. If you’re having bad pvcs. I’m still getting them on the lowest dose so I’m contemplating this being my last month on them. I don’t know. I need the weight loss and I may still have the pvcs after. I’ve had them a while. Just not this bad.
@kpryor1982 dosing for Tirzepatide is as follows: 2.5mg 5.mg 7.5mg 10mg. 12.5mg or 15mg. I am on the 2.5mg dose and all is well but no weight loss yet. I will give this dose another week to see if it kicks in. Very happy to know that you had great success on the 5.mg dosing.

1 ReactionFor mine (monjarro) they told me I’m on .5. And I draw up 50 in the syringe. So I don’t know. That’s just what my pcp showed me and said.
@deniseheart I told him I don’t want to go up any. So I am going to ask him again what dose I’m on. Because I’m confused now
@calson "There are people having problems with the injectable GLP drugs are primarily those injecting into the stomach and not those injecting into an arm or leg." This is not true for me. I inject in the thigh, but still have the heart rate increase issues.
@kpryor1982 I stand corrected. 0.5 ml is the lowest dose. 0.5ml and 2.5 mg is the same. Sorry for the confusion.
I replied to a post regarding this back in August 2025. My husband stopped taking Ozempic after struggling with PVC, SVT and his defibrillator going off three times in 10 hours (for prior context, he had his defibrillator for six years and it never went off prior to this, and didn't have issues prior to this).
After discussing with cardiologist and PCP, he decided to go back on Ozempic about 6 weeks ago. He began having issues again last night.
I understand Ozempic is very beneficial for heart health, but this is very difficult to rationalize that Ozempic hasn't played a role in his recent issues. This is the only change in his medications/lifestyle.
