I’ve had PVC’s all my life 10-18% of the time. Non life threatening. Had CABG (quadruple) two years ago. One year ago had a Type 1 Aortic dissection repair. I had post op afib (temporary) for both surgeries. Resolved on its own quickly. All good. Recovery for both phenomenal.

Started Zepbound three weeks ago. Suddrnly developed persistent atrial fibrillation during week 3. Diltiazem added to my other heart meds. Helps but the afib resurfaces briefly throughout the day. I’m considered controlled based on max heart rate

When I think why and what changed, it is the Zepbound. I have other issues besides obesity where Zepbound will help. Not willing to stop just yet. I’ve heard that sudden onset of afib when starting Zepbound is a rare but a documented side effect. I have no other side effects. Also there is indication that the afib may be temporary. Anyone know or experience 1) if this is true, and 2) are there any studies on this?
