Congrats on your great update news! I'm happy for you, and glad you shared. Creatinine and GFR, like all our blood count numbers are always fluctuating. I know how good it feels to see improvement. (And I do my best not to panic when my numbers do not show improvement - it's a dance, and my numbers have been all over the dance floor LOL)
One of the tricky things about kidney function that makes it a challenge is that we can't "feel" our function level, so we have to become familiar with the other symptoms (fatigue is a big factor), become comfortable asking questions (I keep a running list) and making sure we understand our doctors and nurses, and of course looking at our periodic blood test results to show us how we're doing. And yes so many other issues can have an impact, especially covid yikes!
Wishing you good days, and good numbers that make you feel like dancing! ❤🙏🏼😊

@katyrae, @lisacohen1952 - I want to pop in here and take a few moments to get caught up. I was actually traveling during this conversation. Yes, I took all the safety precautions and went to the mountains and did some hiking with my husband. And while not camping, we ate mostly all of our grab-and-go meals outside for safe distancing. Now I am back home and getting caught up.
Are there any changes to your transplant status? What have your doctors said regarding transplant listing?

Hi guys! My GFR went back up to 24. Breakthrough Covid must have caused the drop to 21. Going back to Mayo’s Thursday for more screening Friday. I’ll know more then. Thank you for asking!

Doing ok Colleen. GFR 25, so that’s good! Waiting on genetics test results from weeks ago to find out if there are genetic markers associated with my CKD.

@lisacohen1952, I saw that you recently responded in another transplant discussion. So , I thought that I would drop in while you are in the neighborhood on Connect. Do you have any updates? Did you complete the genetic testing in October? Is your CKD associated with a genetic factor? Will you be needing a transplant?

Hello! My CKD is not genetic. My numbers are a bit better, so still don’t need a transplant! Docs think that I probably will at some point. Thank you for asking!😘

Lisa, I am happy to hear from you. And I do hope that you are feeling okay.
Lisa, Do you live near Mayo for your care? What kind of monitoring will you have?
