Fibromyalgia and adhesion & fascial issues
I have fibromyalgia and have had widespread skeletal muscle pain for a number of years. This past year, I started having pain issues due to adhesive capsulitis (freezing of my shoulder and ankle), myofascial adhesions, and plantar fasciitis. Is anyone else with fibromyalgia experiencing these type of issues? I am wondering if they are related to my fibromyalgia or some other underlying problem.

I also frequently get myofascial knots in my rib cage and unfortunately have few answers for treatment or prevention. Physical therapy can be helpful in addressing the knots and I do PT myself on the ones I can reach. I do mild stretches – just enough to get the muscles to move across the bones through the facia and try to move gently, but that doesn't seem to prevent the knots and the pain. Also recently diagnosed with FM.
Per my sleep med doctor, I take 3mg of melatonin about a hour before bed time and then a 7.5 mg Rx of Remeron for sleep, 2 arthritis strength (650mg) acetaminophen ER and sometimes 220mg naproxen at bedtime. Melatonin helps get me to sleep, Remeron helps me get back to sleep when I wake up due to pain. The naproxen may be helpful during the daytime.
Due to complexity, I'm thinking seeing a specialist or several different specialists would be advisable. I started with orthopedics because that was the simplest place to start.
All the best to you and your situation.
I have knots in my glutes, and they don’t seem to go away after vigorous massages. The glutes have become weak so I can’t sit for long before I start to experience pain in my buttocks and legs. I don’t know how to reverse this can someone please advice how to get rid of glute knots and what medication can I use for sleep as well as strengthening myself.
Before I was diagnosed with Fibro, I would tell people that I had a "sitting issue" because I could only sit for very short periods and even had to stand in an airplane due to this. Finally, when I found out I had fibro, the doctor explained that the sitting issues are from what you are talking about. I have found that sitting on a heating pad relieves the glute and leg pain when it gets really bad.
How can we recover from this. It’s spreaded all over my body now and it’s only getting worse. I’m having trouble swallowing my face feels like there’s ants all
My PT guy suggested to use a wrapped ice cube on the knot to relax it – once relaxed use heat to address the irritation the knot had caused.
Worth a try.
Not a physician, but that's likely something else – I'd recommend seeing a reliable medical professional ASAP.
I see a rheumatologist who specializes in fibromyalgia.
There is specific medication for fibromyalgia. The pain comes from nerve endings and the lumps under the skin in the muscle are common especially in severe cases. Talk to a physician –preferably a rheumatologist who specializes in FM.
