Has anyone ever been on Duloxetine (Cymbalta) for nerve pain?

Has anyone ever been on Duloxetine (Cymbalta) for nerve pain? I've had 2 doctors push this on me. I know that the side effects can be terrible and getting off of it difficult as it requires titration. One time I remember taking one pill, and not liking the way it made me feel, so not taking any more, and still feeling the "weirdness" from it 2-3 days later. and that was only 30 mg Please pass along any experience or advice from this medication?

Exact same reaction as you. Refused to take additional capsules. Now on pregabalin for nerve pain - 200mg x3 daily, Soma for muscle relaxant, advil, low dose opiate, heat, ice, and use of cannabis vape pen (only when not intending to drive).

@sheceegold yeah, no offense, but CBD balm is not going to be effective on the levels of nerve pain we are discussing here. Maybe on muscle soreness and overal inflamation, but not shocks and needles in my foot and massive compression and pain in my lower back

My experience with CBD eases some pain level. I'm a fan of CBD!

@dougs72 Agreed. CBD doesn’t help with everything but it is better than most drugs. For nerve compression in back pain I suggest you explore what helped me. An MRI showed nerve compression in spinal discs. Minor surgery (a disc decompression) gave almost immediate relief. Over night in the hospital and I was up the next day. No physical therapy or follow-up was needed. 15 years later and still pain free. CBD balm relieves pain in my knee and toe that was injured about 10 years ago. It, too, give almost immediate relief but needs repeat appliation about 10 hours later . CBD is my first go-to attempt at relief. And it usually works.

I was on Cymbalta for a year. It made me incredibly sick getting off it is horrible. Cymbalta has horrible side effects and a withdrawal syndrome.

It didn't work for me and you need to withdraw slowly, but I have known several other folks with pretty severe back and leg nerve issues that really swear by it. I took gabapentin for quite a few years but stopped that when I heard about the dementia risk. That was a slow withdrawal as well and the soles of my feet and hands will never be the same. I only wish it was all numb enough that I didn't have to feel the pain inside my feet and hands, but no such luck. I'm just left with a bizarre diminished sensation on the surface. Really strange. Good luck to you. Hope it works!

@sheceegold Yeah I'm sooo far past that. I've had multiple MRIs and shots over thelast few years. There is notyhing you can suggest, that I haven't already explored. Next is a spinal cord stimulator

I take 120mg of Cymbalta for Chronic Migraine Disease and Fibromyalgia. I have gone off of it before and my pain increased significantly. I also use THC/CBD salve and gummies. The gummies are micro dosed so I can adjust as I need to. The introduction of medical cannabis has been the only thing that allows me to function during the day. It doesn't take my pain away but it eases my nerves and relaxes me.
