Brinsupri (aka Brensocatib)

FDA approved Brensocatib today. Hooray for us. Let’s hope we have access to it as soon as possible and it gives us some measure of relief. Thank you to all the scientists and doctors and patients!

I may be the luckiest old lady in NE PA. Today, the 26th I received approval from my insurance (Humana) and a call from the manufacturer's rep. They will send a "welcome pack" and call me to check on understanding.
I have had no adverse effects. I'll check in after a week. Hopefully you all will have good luck getting signed up, too.

Happy to hear this awesome news for you. And glad you have not experienced any side effects!

Would it be possible to say how long was the process from when your doctor submitted the prescription?

I signed authorization papers Thursday the 21st. Next day, I heard from Pantherx that they would send it out.

I talked to my doctor right after fda approval of brinsupri. She asked if I wanted her to start the paperwork. I said yes, and was contacted friday to talk with caseworker and coordinator. They offered me copay assistance and a pharmacist called yesterday to go over in depth my medicines, and we talked a lot about the clinical trials, continuing education, ,etc. Today I got a very thorough packet of information and am expecting brinsupri tomorrow. Hope it helps.

It has been almost a week on Brinsupri with no side effects. I'll have to watch my gums even more carefully, but so far so good. My Medicare part D covers it with the Humana Medicare Advantage. I'll send update after a month.

In the Webinar today, the doctor said that the results begin showing after 4 months or so.

I wasn’t able to watch the webinar. I will be looking for the recording and posting it. Any takeaways? Thank you, Sue for explaining that the results take about four months. Would love to hear more… Linda

Took a lot of notes - on a little memo paper that was in my purse as I was listening between appointments. I will put together a new discussion tonight. Today is a garden day - beautiful weather.

So many people starting BRINSUPRI! Small co-pay. 👏 Huge credit to Insmed for fast rollout, clear info & a stellar helpline.
