5 yrs post covid. Is there any help out there
I can't take those any longer. I have been suffering with Long Covid for over 5 yrs. The biggest problem I have is finding doctors that understand this issue. Ringing in my ears and loss of hearing in left ear. Brain fog still. No short term memory. Depression sleep issues. Nightmares. Pulse rate between 38 to 45. Headaches. Rashes come and go. Wake up with blue feet. Hands and feet fall asleep in bed. Vision issues. No Libido since covid, none. Neck pain on left side of face. Fatigue. Try to get a good night's sleep but never works. Every 2 hrs up. Please Please my main thing is I would love to see a doctor that will listen and might run some test on me. This has to happen soon. Please help, any help.
Thanks

I am so sorry and I understand how you feel. It has been over 3 years for me. I know that there are doctors who are more receptive to this, however, it seems they only treat symptoms. Everything you listed, I get. I do not have the low heart rate or neck pain, but I do have the other symptoms and now, I believe that I have started getting arthritis in my hands and feet. I posted some links in another discussion and then another person posted a helpful link as well. All I can say is that I have to deal with the day. I can't go into the future in my head as I get hopeless. I hate this virus. Are you old enough to remember HIV and when it started? It was a death sentence and none of the doctors knew how to treat it. Now, it is treatable. That is my hope for this. March is Long COVID awareness month. I have been writing to my legislators (not sure it makes any difference) and I also wrote to NPR. The more awareness about all of us dealing with this shit, the better. Hang in there and if you need a listening ear, you have one.

Medical insurance is another big thing. It doesn't cover covid long haulers at all. I just turned 65 so I remember HIV. I know someday they might have a cure but I don't have 30 years to wait. I should be retired and happy and traveling now. I can't be happy or travel feeling this awful. Anyways thanks for your reply. Best of luck to all of us. Just like my last worthless doctor said, YOU PEOPLE ARE JUST GOING TO HAVE TO WAIT 4 OR 5 YEARS. I think she meant 20 to 30 years
I went to an Integrative Medicine Doctor and he had the most incite into Long Covid. Problem was I reacted to every infusion and almost every supplement he put me on....perhaps you will not. Doctors were not prepared for COVID...neither were we. Primary Doctors are overloaded with daily patients and aren't equipped to treat Long COVID.
Is there a Long Covid Recovery Clinic in your area? This is probably the best place to start if you do not have an Integrative Medicine Doctor that can help. Be prepared for the first visit to be very lengthy. Insurance will cover the labwork, but, not the visit with the Integrative Medicine Doctor. Also, are there any
Infectious Disease Doctors in your area that treat Long Covid?
I'm so sorry. I still battle a lot of symptoms with Long Covid. Praying for you.

3 ReactionsI would talk to a cardiologist first! That heart rate can affect so many things you describe. Not everything, but many things.

I live in a large town 900,000 and I called yesterday to see first visit new patient a Cardiologist. They said first appointment is early June. I live in Florida and now all the hospital and doctors are crazy busy. During season it is so hard to get into anyone. I have called 2 other doctors I see. Maybe 1 of them can get me in faster. Too many patients and Not Enough doctors anymore. Just crazy

5 years + Long COVID... (09/2020)
Up until January 1 when it was closed, I had been a patient at our local Post COVID Recovery Clinic. Not sure what I'll do now, besides changing my PCP from family medicine to internal medicine and, in addition, seeing a functional medicine doctor who is exploring possible autoimmune issues/disease.
We'll see...
Blessings of Joy (although it would be great, not 'Happiness', necessarily) to all.

Yes I know. I would probably have to fly there. I can't stand sitting in a car 6 plus hours. I wish ot was closer. Probably have a year waiting list. Plus I have a new 11 month old puppy. I might give them a call and see how long and how many appointments. I am not negative on the idea just worried about cost and the long drive. Also I no longer work and trying to live off of social security now. Thank you

1 Reaction@kevtan Well, shoot. I understand. It was right around a 4-hour drive from where I live. It was exhausting but worth it.
Can you get into a cardiologist near you? I am concerned about your heart rate!
