Has anyone looked into a class action law suit regarding Benzodiazepines?

Benzos are not the answer they hurt you in the long run. I’m 57 and to old to be going thru this I am not living just surviving at this seeking counseling to help get my old self back where I was able to do anything.
Still tapering off this most evil medication/ drug. Doctor made me into a prescribed addict

There needs to be a lawsuit, benzos destroyed my daughter, who is in a mental institution for the past 3 months, and the courts own her for 4 years yet. I have talked to her Drs twice and nurses 3 times, they seem very nice and I know she's safe, but the mental issues, hearing voices from the heavenly realm, and the anger she gets. I don't see her getting any better.

I am. We need to get people to join our cause to gain traction and actually get an attorney to take on the case. I suggest we start a Twitter page and get anyone else suffering with issues caused by benzodiazepines to join it. That’s how we win this.

How do we find an attorney? Pro Bono one? Benzos should be in the same class as PAIN PILLS!

Who are you looking to specifically file a class action lawsuit against? Witch pharmaceutical company?
Big Pharma gives millions of dollars to politicians in congress and they have a law firm team that can crush us little people.

How did they get the pain pills to where they are now?

I’m going to contact that firm. Looks like it was posted on 2019. I don’t know if they’re still around.

My daughter is in the Winnebago mental health hospital because of benzos. She has been on them for at least 15 years, she is 37 years old and has 2 beautiful daughters 14 and 12. In 2008 I found her script, her doctor was prescribing her 120 pills a month. Idk the mg. but she was taking more then she should have been, she was a different person because of them, they made her forget her problems and not remember a lot of her life or have to deal with her problems. She is a benzo addict in a mental health hospital. She is addicted to benzos which took her mind, turned her into a different person. She had her first psychofrenic psychosis attack 4 years ago There's so much more that happened because of these pills, numerous calls to the jail to get her mental help, a letter to the judge to get her help, but he didn't care. There should be a lawsuit somewhere! My daughter is lost

I have been on 1 mg of Kolonopin since 1991 and am 66 years old. I originally took for panic attacks. Now I just take for if I need for sleep. I have 3 autoimmune diseases and one being Hashimoto’s. I do have problems sleeping. But there are times when I don’t take them for a week or two and I don’t feel any withdrawal symptoms. I do take them normally 3 or 4 days a week and then not the rest of the week, because I still work part time and need to sleep to get up at 3:30 am in the morning.
I believe the problem is when patients take more pills daily, or begin to take more on there own to get the same euphoric feeling they used to get. I don’t and never have and they still work the same. So in turn a problem occurs. Then there are doctors that prescribe patients with taking these multiple time a day. I believe you can’t do that with this drug, nor increase dosage on your own to get the same euphoric feeling. That is when I consider an addiction begins.

Yes, I believe that. I am 66 years old, and never really took pills, when I did, I never took more then what was prescribed .

My doctor has the script stating take as needed. I only take as needed. Haven’t had a panic attack in years, so now just need to take for sleep when needed. I understand there are doctors that say take 3 times a day. I always research my medications before I pick up my first script. I knew taking this that taking it the way I take it would not cause problems. I never increase the dosage and it always works as hood as 1991.

I'm so fortunate to have a PC who takes time to listen and discuss my concerns. After reading on here about people who were on lexapro and had sleep disorders I tapered off on my own and explained my reasoning and he was so supportive said he had not heard of that but would read up on it ( Dr can't keep up with everything I know ). My sleep has improved since being off for a month. I still take a low dose of Welbutrin and depression is under good control.
